I agree; it's definitely an amazing freeway to drive.

When I lived in LA, I used to drive on the 110 often btwn Long Beach and Koreatown, where I lived. When I had passengers, I used to gun it up to 100 on the long viaduct and repeatedly say "earthquake" as we drove on it. I freaked out my passengers, but luckily there was never an earthquake when I drove on it. Thanx again FreewayBrent for keeping my Southland memories alive, I'd love to see your 405 videos. Take care.

Cool videos! Been interested in freeways and motorways since I was a kid growing up in a small town in New Zealand - where unfortunately we didn't even have any dual carriageways. Now living in Perth Australia, we have some half decent freeways and interchanges, but the scale of the road infrastructure in the U.S. looks unreal! Freeways right across the country and huge interchanges that would eclipse some multilevel buildings, even those car pool lanes elevated above the main highway - seems almost like money wasn't an object. One day when I get the visit the U.S. I'd love to drive myself around!

Hey there Sam! Believe it or not, I've widely expanded my coverage to include Australia over the past year. Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, so far. I'll link you to one of my videos from there, released a few months ago...the Monash Freeway inbound, heading towards Melbourne. The video editing has improved dramatically, since I released this video in 2009. Enjoy! kzitem.info/news/bejne/2YWi2Xp3e52BrWk

THANKS SO MUCH, DUDE! Gahh I've been waiting forever for this! haha :) AWESOME job!! A couple of notes: - Interesting cover-up sign at 2:12. - At 5:33, I've noticed on Google Earth that this appears to be a ghost-ramp of sorts. It looks as if CalTrans was planning to have a southbound flyover connect here, but it never happened.

I agree with SUPCV2, the I-105/110 interchange is freak'in impressive. Also, the HOV lanes used on this freeway has no equal. From HOV only ramps, to elevated HOV lanes in the dense areas to save space, the HOV lanes on I-110 rapes, kills, and puts other HOV lane systems in a shallow grave.

Interstate 710 gets heavy traffic between the port of Long Beach and Valley Blvd in Alhambra and while truck traffic can be heavy on interstate 710 I like there not being a second freeway between interstate 710 and 110. California state route 47 was intended to relive truck traffic but I’m glad that California state route 47 never got extended north of Long Beach because air pollution’s been so high and having another freeway would displace houses and businesses. California state route 47 doesn’t need to be extended to downtown Los Angeles like originally planned.

@PanzerVIZeke: Very good point. Driving around NYC was certainly interesting, but if I had to live there, I'd honestly just take the trains and subways. It's too much of a hassle to drive there, from a commuting perspective with its super subpar "freeways" and parkways. By the way, I plan on re-recording I-110 with the new camcorder very soon. Just waiting for some clear weather (as in, no clouds at all). Did you get a chance to watch my I-210 West video from Pasadena to Sylmar yet?

@KMJ921: Ha! Well, I suppose you just get used to the traffic, after awhile. Gainesville, that's a pretty neat college town (wish I would've filmed a short street tour of their downtown). I do have some Jacksonville area videos that I'll be featuring in the future. Thanks for watching.

With I-5 and I-105, this is one of my favorite in the LA freeways system (and one of the first videos of your collection I've seen). I'm always fascinated by ramps connectors of Judge Harry Pregerson Interchange. Do you intend to produce a new video on this freeway with your actual camcorder?

Also, apparently, this is the interstate that legendary drug dealer Freeway Ricky Ross was named after (since CalTrans' widening of the Harbor took it right through his house).

@twilightrocks56789: Being as unbiased as I can possibly be, the "High 5" indeed covers a larger area. However, the approach along southbound I-110 to Interstate 105 is probably the most impressive approach to any interchange in the world; flyover ramps for every connection, *including* HOV flyovers in the median to both directions of the I-105 HOV lanes, and vice-versa from the I-105 HOV lanes to the HOV lanes, north of the interchange along I-110. It's unlike anything else I've ever seen.

I actually do have the footage...BUT, Caltrans and Metro (the local transportation planning agency for Los Angeles County) converted the carpool lanes into toll lanes (that are still free for carpool drivers). Hence, a bunch of new signs were installed, so I feel it's a must to re-film it...AGAIN. Only after then, will I put a replacement video up on KZitem.

@ScenicMirages Beyond that point, The freeway is not built to Interstate Highway standards and thus does not get the interstate designation North of I-10. Which I think is sort of unfair considering how many interstates in NYC that are even *below* subpar in their engineering and design based on modern standards, interstate or not.
