I see this over and over again - First, use the right drill bit - especially for thicker steel. Second, those bits will work best at about 600-1000 rpm. You're burning them up with your drill going to fast and pushing too hard. Third, use some oil but that's optional.

Hi Cattermole Adventures! Thank you for that awesome review and we are glad that you are safe! Are the jacks still holding up to your liking? We would love to connect with you. :)

The jacks have done amazing things! It is the best investment I have ever made into a trailer. I went straight from having a very wiggly trailer to nearly no wiggle. Even the kids footsteps would wake me up in the night when they went to the bathroom. I can’t say that it’s 100% no wiggle. But it has helped tremendously. I would love to connect with you guys :-) Not really sure about how to do that though.

im not going to say your wrong.....but why were you using a wood bit for the pilot holes "smaller bit" an you did use a metal bit for the larger.....i have the 6000 lb libra jacks an yeah we all forget from time to time to wear safety goggles

I guess it’s more what I had available. The smaller holes were a bit easier than the large holes. Now looking back at it, I probably should have ran over to Home Depot to get the right bits😬 Thanks a bunch for the comment! Hope you have a great day😊👍

Use cutting oil.... Bad technique and no cutting oil results in lots of money & time wasted. Also, cobalt bits for frame steel.

Thanks for the good info! I simply just don’t have the knowledge to know stuff like that. I wish I would have known. It took me way to long. Maybe I will keep you on tab for my next project that becomes excessively difficult😊 Thanks a bunch for the comment and I hope you have a great day!
