As a kid I constantly swallowed gum by accident, be it driving along and my relative would hit a bump in the car as I was chewing it or be it because I talked to fast and swallowed the gum whilst attempting not to.. I wasn't allowed it at all after swallowing quite a bit by accident just simply for talking too fast 😂 I also have to say if they're gonna bite their nails they're just gonna bite their nails. Sometimes I still do, I look at them and genuinely cannot help but get the urge to remove the white off my fingers.. do also be aware that "HEMA-free" does NOT mean "allergen-free" in gel polish. the thing that makes gel gel is the methacrylate, the MA part of HEMA. alternatives to HEMA are HPMA, Bis-HEMA, Di-HEMA, and others, which may or may not be less likely to sensitize a user, but are still acrylates. so they can all still cause an allergy if used improperly

I first got my acrilic nails at age 13 cause my nails were basically nonexistent and my mum already tried everything she could (and my own willpower didn't help) The fact that i couldn't bite through the acrylic helped me so much, i still had the habit of biting, but since i couldn't damage my nails they actually grew out and attached to my skin. I continued doing the nails for a few months until i mostly stopped biting my nails and switched to regular nail polish (which i now was obsessed with and also was too sad to lose my nail estate to biting) I still struggle with nail biting until this day, especially when the stress is high, but gel nails help me immensely during my "relapses" Edit: i got extensions on my teeny tiny nails, it hurt like hell with the forms and all but it was the first time i had nails that reached the ends of my fingers and i also saw how pretty my hands could look 😅 i felt awkward and amazing at the same time 💅

I did it for 21 years...since last Sommer, I stopped. Nail biting can come from anxiety, stimming and more. I only stopped it last summer, cause after my dog died, I was (and kind am still) in a dark place and wanted one thing to be proud of. So I tried to not bite my nails anymore, but for getting it in only a month from biting daily to only 4 times in the last 6 months (only one bite on one nail each time), I started to use these now long nails, to go over my head and massacre my scalp 😅👀
