I know rant reviews have a bad reputation for just being negative, but I like your reviews because when you rant you explain why the book bothers you, personally, and not why it would bother everyone. You're keenly aware that not all books are for everyone and some people will like the books you rant about... but that doesn't mean those books can't be (and shouldn't be) put through the Rachel Grinder™

I only recently discovered this channel, around the end of last year or so, but I have perused other booktubers though none had ever really captured my frequent interest. I mostly just went from one to another without sticking around, but with this channel I just can’t get enough. I’m not quite sure what it is that captivates me but I love it and wish I had found this channel years ago. So, thank you for recording and uploading these (as well as editing, I know that can be hard work), not only are they highly entertaining but also very informative and helpful to both reader and writer.

I very much started my channel because I wanted something outside motherhood and you were very much a motivating factor for why I finally did it. My goal is to get to BookNet Fest and I hope I can make it next year. Just wanted to say thank you for being you.

I don’t know if this will mean anything to you, but my younger brother has autism, adhd, and had major behavioral issues as a younger kid. It really does get better, especially once you get the diagnosis because that leads to appropriate treatment. I won’t say it’s an easy road, but you being there and advocating for your child and listening to them makes this journey move forward. Best of luck! Also PS- again I don’t know if this will mean anything to you because I’m a stranger on the internet, but the small ways we see you interact with your kids are beautiful.

Funnily enough I started in a different part of the the bookish community about... 8 years ago? Around the part of Merphy Nepier, Hello Future Me, Tale Foundery, Philip Chase (he's a newer one for me before I came to your neck of the woods), Unpopular Book Club, and Gavin Reads it All. (I don't watch Daniel Greene anymore because I was starting to get a bit put off by some of his content, he got replaced by you I believe is where I started over this area.) I was introduced to you, Bookish Realms, Jess Owns, Elliot Brooks, lou reading things, and mynameismarines by my aunt about around 2022. xD So I've been around for a while but still rather newist to this part of booktube. (I just discovered Bookish Realms have been around for 10 years, so she's in the OG realm of KZitem at this rate). I think you may actually really like watching Gavin Reads it All (he just seprated his manga content to a new channel because it wasn't working for how his content is like and he set it up before his big move he's been setting up for.) because he's pretty cozy to watch and doesn't try to be perfect in everything he does. Tale Foundery is a bit more like an Essay about story telling and books, same with Hello Future Me and Unpopular Book Club. So not sure if you're intrested in that area, as they're not as sassy as Overly Sarcastic Productions (Well Unpopular Book Club is sassy but the other two aren't). Philip Chase may also a fun watch on a more educational level as he's a professor for viking lit and he goes into books a little differently than some others would and talks about themes and if those themes are handle correctly within the book. But mostly these are suggestions and it may be a fun conversation in the future of how some areas don't exactly overlap within the booktube community.

Congrats on 5 years! You might be my first booktube channel??? I started reading again last year after many years in a reading slump. And bookrants are fun for me coz it satisfies my curiosity about a (usually) popular book while validating my aversion to reading them. But also helps me analyze books better. And since I think we have similar tastes, I did binge your positive reviews as well lol. Congrats again👵

I would love more videos with your kid talking about books. That last one was adorable. Also, I just want to say Thank you for this channel❤ I found you recently through Don't Fret. I'm fairly new to booktube, have been a lifelong reader, and have spent months looking around youtube for book channels I relate to. And I found you! The wonderful mix of books for entertainment and books for social justice❤❤❤ Where I live in California is very conservative, we're dealing with book banning at the County Public Library level and it's not going well. It sounds similar to what you're dealing with there in Florida. It's infuriating and actually scary. One of the first videos of yours I watched was your trip to DC, and it just made me feel not so alone. I just thought "Finally THIS is the side of booktube I've been looking for" So thank you!! And now through you, I'm finding other channels that I enjoy. Not to mention your book recs are also what I've been looking for. Anyhoo, sorry for rambling😊

i've been watching booktube for almost 10 years now and always wanted to make content but go back and forth between wanting to be on the internet and wanting to never be perceived ever again haha something about early booktube that im glad has changed (or maybe just my specific niche has changed) is honest reviews. it was way too common to see someone read a lot of books and say they were all good everything is great !! then i pick it up and it's literally a flaming pile of garbage (im looking at you, caraval). in fact i think thats what initially brought me to ur channel is the caraval vid and honesty from a consumer standpoint i think your positive videos dont do as well might be because people will then want to read the book and want to avoid spoilers. at least that's the case for me haha but with negative reviews people want to be saved from reading a bad book ive been finding myself writing paragraphs under your vids lately so imma just excuse myself haha thanks for sharing your passions on the internet!!!! ❤🧓🏻
