Congrats for the PR in Canada! Definitely a way better decision than staying in Aus. The migration system is frustrating and the government treated international students or foreigner like money tree, nothing more. I too tried for Canada during the covid period when all immigration stuff stopped here. But after a few months of the Canada application, I got the Aus PR invitation. It took me 10 years to get Aus PR and today I passed my citizenship test.

I'll be honest when I say this as an Indian "Once we move out of India to a developed country (UK, EU, AUS, CAN, NZ, Middle East), we do not feel like returning home to India (unless forced to due to visa issues or for parents) as we get exposed to the better standards of living, freedom of expression, better quality of air/water/food, etc." I do not think whether congress or BJP ruling India will make much of a difference as the gap that exists between India and the Developed world is way too much and does not seem like that gap will reduce. It is harsh but the honest truth! Indians have been migrating for the past several decades and that will continue as long as there are major gaps between developed and developing world.

People need to know that what Australia really requires is highly educated but low payed fuel station attendant, warehouse worker, barista worker, delivery driver; whilst you earn you spend it all on living expenses, making rich more richer, that’s why the locals are demanding more low payed workers, students etc. so they can have it all easy and comfortable.
@jed2055

When I moved interstate in Australia I expected to land the job I was trained for withing 3 months. 18 months later I took a labourer's job. It's all I could get yet I was highly trained in my career choice. I never did get a job back in that sector. That's how hard it is in Australia so please spare me your complaints. kingrameez1 said, "People need to know that what Australia really requires is highly educated but low payed fuel station attendant, warehouse worker, barista worker, delivery driver;" No mate, that's why the government make it hard to get into this country. If a highly educated person is allowed to enter with no jobs in the market for those skills, that person can end up pumping petrol or working menial tasks. The real trouble is, many citizens of 3rd world countries will do anything to escape their country's poverty and zero opportunities. It is not the job of countries like Australia to take each and every person from anywhere in the world who feel they would like to live in better circumstances. Australia is a big country on the map but with heavily mechanised manufacturing, ditto for agriculture and a small population, it simply does not need a flood of folk from poorer nations or anywhere for that matter but especially people whose skills are not required. Can you not see that? Many citizens from the UK and the US fail in their application to gain permanent entry here just as Australians fail doing the same thing elsewhere. Each country has it's own problems but letting people enter and stay with very few jobs that suit their skills base is just plain stupid. There will always be people who once rejected, turn the argument around so its somehow that country's fault. That doesn't wash mate.

I served in the British military and You studied same subjects as me(counter terrorism was my specialism) The security clearance was the “only” reason you never got a professional job in your field. Believe it or not even working in cyber security or any forensic stream(you can forget counter terrorism) for a private company could require you to sometimes access (occasional access at the very least) top secret data from police, banking or ministry of defence. You cannot have access to that data without being a citizen or Atleast a PR with 3-5 years of residency ( case by case basis). I held security clearance both in military and after leaving military too but I knew I would loose my clearance if I married my girlfriend from Punjab. So I just left that career and got married 😅 Canada will be same as it is part of 5 EYES countries and these 5 work on similar principles.

Many good universities in Canada are unaffordable for me. Would attending a top university in Australia increase my chances of obtaining PR after graduation?

Akansha it is plain commonsense that Australia cannot support huge amounts of immigrants. The country is not industrialized or it will take a long time to get there. They are taking immigrants just to fill in the immediate needs in shortage positions. Again where are they going to put large amounts of immigrants? All the major cities with water sources are already overflowing with people. You need water to settle people down. In Australia where are the people living? Mostly on a narrow strip of land on eastern seaboard.

I feel for you. All the five years spent were enough to get PR in Canada. But the experience is cool and I live your courage. Is it possible to finish masters in another country and enter Australia for a diploma in construction (bricklaying)? I will be moving to Tokyo for masters in peace and conflict and Its my dream to settle in Australia. So your video just opened my eyes to the real situation with my degree when it comes to Australia.

HI Akanksha. I am 43 years old and I am a Criminal Lawyer in Mumbai. I recently visited Melbourne for my vacation and I was very impress with Australia. I am just confuse about whether I will be eligible for PR with Indian education and work experience. My question to you 1. Whether I will have to study law again in Australia and if yes for how many years 2. Whether with my current education and work experience, how much is the success rate for getting PR for me and my wife. My wife is a hair stylist. 3. Will I get a job in my field(Law) in Melbourne. 4. Will I be able to sustain in Australia if I don't get job in my field. I understand your not a immigration counselor or agent, but u have stayed there and got experience. On that basis will you be able to guide me whether I should apply for PR or not. I dont want to waste money and energy, after listening to your story and comments from other people. Thanks in advance

For god sake I'm staying with my cousin you need all tht ? Never happen before during my last visit to Australia. 1 application for a tourist visa they charge Aus20 if 1000 application how much money they are collecting! And yet not approved. What is happening Australia? Your government is begging and stealing money in such a way! Don't go to this pirates country! Promotion around the world about Australia are fantastic and they are pulling many tourist but whn you apply they scam you with so called processing fees! N will not approved n make the application so difficult period. When people give up they hv make Aus20 each Even in the UK visa could be obtain during arrival. With NO scam fees!

Australia is like third world country among the first world...Australia is really not for skilled people... let me know one product apart from blackbox Australia has created ? lol .. such a worthless labour country.. always keep comparing to US... Aussie is suitable for labour/tradie people.. not for skilled people...
