I am gonna repost this long ass comment i wrote to someone asking about DOB: hi, first off, i agree with the comment that says creative processes are not linear. the dob i started in 2020 and the dob i am working on now is different. it's better! i didn't grind it out back then bc i didn't like the way it was going, also there was a ton of life stuff that happened... i don't want to announce its on indefinite hiatus because it's not. i still work on it! is it my main focus rn? no. plastic spouse interrogation has just been my focus as of late. after this, i plan to put a ton more time into dob... please consider why i would want to make 1 or 2 smaller fully finished projects before dob tho: these smaller projects have helped me get a LOT better at making games, these smaller projects help me financially(!!!), these smaller projects are fun to make, its fun to have stuff to work on that's not all the same. i really don't want to litigate this and i'm not going to argue with you. i don't ever mean to mislead anyone about this stuff, but communicating is hard lol, there are so many platforms, i am only one person, i don't have a communications team. on some level i feel bad dob isn't done bc yeah it has been a while. i definitely feel that, it's a weight on my mind for sure. but on the other hand i still feel all this other stuff is valid, and i do think the things i have learned and the reflection ive done will make dob a better game in the end.

honestly you're the most interesting and original indie dev out there to my knowdlege; your games and ongoing projects all somehow manage to hit the spot with stuff ive always wanted to see in gaming/simulation (wether its themes, mechanics or just aesthetics) - and with that bleak and twisted vibe you rarely (truly) find even in indies and wannabe horror makers. its like cronenberg, lovecraft, burroughs and bataille came together and made videogames, lol. dunno if that makes sense, but I connect to the emotions conveyed by your games a lot (Water Womb World stuck with me especially). take your time to shape stuff the way you feel it has to be, people making pressure on the releases are just selfish and dont get how art is made. good luck with all the work, really looking forward to it .

Really happy to see that you’re still working and creating, I’ve been a big fan of this type of comprehensible incomprehensible horror for a long time! Creation is led by our own capacity, I’m glad to have these games to enjoy in the midst of waiting for DOB as you learn. I hope you’ll be able to attain that version of DOB that you envisioned, I hope that you continue on with passion so that it may be everything you ever wanted and something you’ll grow to love!

I love the art. What's your approach for making 3D renders?
@yames_games
12 күн бұрын
there's various stages of adding dirt and grime to stuff like I have some compositing nodes in blender I use, then almost everything has been color adjusted after render, some of the visuals in this are pngs that I converted into very poor quality jpegs, and there's a noise shader in-game to make everything gel together more

ok but where is discover our bodies... maybe focus on that before making a new game? love your work either way. edit: i watched the video, I respect yames but my comment still stands. it's been nearly 5 years since DOB's announcement and yames seems to have a tendency to start new projects like growing my grandpa and this game too. I'd rather the game either be oficially indefinitely hiatused, rather than keep hoping for DOB for the last years

@@Panchoproductions2069my comment still holds up man, it's been nearly 5 years since it's announcement already... I love his work and I understand games take a long time to make but it's no wonder it's taking 5+ years to release DOB when he keeps jumping onto other projects and games like growing my grandpa and this one, among other projects. I admire his dedication but at least he can be up front and say "yep it's on the backburner, I have better/ other game ideas I want to work on right now "
