I really can’t stand it when people tell reactors that something’s going to be sad, or that they should have tissues ready, or that they’re going to be devastated, etc. Let them react naturally to things without ruining stuff by giving them clues. It’s the same as telling someone that there’s going to be a twist, or a big surprise, or a cool cameo, or whatever, and then they’ll spend the whole time looking for something, waiting for anything to happen. Just let them watch the movie for god’s sake.

Virtual hugs from the Atlanta area, where this film was made. The studio is two towns over from my house, and Tony's cabin, which you won't see until Endgame, is just a few miles away. Avengers Infinity War and Endgame are really one very long story that was split into two parts for practical reasons. The live action filming for both was done together. But they needed so much special effects/CGI work they had to split the releases a year apart. The other reason is the combined run time is 5.5 hours, which is too long for a theater audience, and the theaters could not get enough showings per day. The split in the story is at the low point, where it looks like the bad guys have won and there is no hope. Hope returns in part 2 because of the most important mouse in the universe, but it is still an emotional roller coaster. The theater audience had to wait a year to see the end of the story. Today you can watch both parts as fast as you want. Having multiple infinity stones means you can use all of their powers individually or combined. Even Thanos is not powerful enough to handle multiple stones without the golden gauntlet. It protects his body somewhat and lets him use combinations, like pressing multiple piano keys to make a chord. Thanos isn't the most powerful being individually. The Celestials are more powerful. But he has huge ships and many followers. He calls his followers, and the stolen children like Nebula and Gamora, the "Children of Thanos". He's basically the leader of a death cult, because he wants to kill half the life in the Universe. He's named after the Greek god Thanatos, the personification of death.

I'm on the very lower half of things when I say I like Thanos. I agree to a point with him. He just wants balance. He is willing to take lives, unprejusdiciously. Whether your rich or poor, smart or not etc. The way human race is, everyone is greedy and wants ro take everything over, causing starvation, pain, drought...maybe by making more room and making people more grateful, people will take care of the world better.

And they all gather here for the incoming battle and the distance between this movie and the next was also like a year or something.... so if you watch right away, it will not feel that emotional

The movie gets so much better when you understand Thanos. He respects those who make sacrifices they don't want to make with aim of achieving a greater goal. This is why Thanos gives loki that brief reaction when loki said ''Kill away'' when Thanos demanded the stone or Thor would die, we see it again when Peter pulled the trigger to kill Gamora and Thanos said ''I like you'' Before teleporting off because he saw that peter was willing to sacrifice something he didn't want to loose.

Infinity Trilogy saga in comics is so much more cosmic level and gods and reality is falling before Thanos there so this MCU version not even close what he is in comics and the reason why he is doing all this is not same too

This was a rough one. I remember seeing it in the theatre as someone who knows the comics. Deafening silence at the end, kids crying. It was amazing.

Cap arriving at the train station has to be the second most epic hero arrival moment in the MCU. I remember watching this opening weekend and the theater went nuts!
