It probably blew up cause it was jetted too lean causing it to blow up, or there was an airleak making it run lean too, or also they probably didn't break in the new top end properly. But for $900 isn't a bad deal. If the cylinder is damaged you can have it replated for $200 and get a new piston kit for around $200. And might want to look into jetting to make sure it wasn't off.

Kudos to you for posting video of when a buy goes wrong. Most people would not post anything and fast forward til fixed or gone. It could be a number of reasons its lost comp tho, it could have blown a head gasket or main seal, it did sound like there was metal on metal contact while it was running. Also if you own 2 strokes and dont own a 2 stroke leakdown tester, get 1! You need to check the flywheel for play, odds are bearings are smoked and the seals have went with it and thats why shes running lean. Good luck with her

N u m b not true if you put it on correctly give it 9 heat cycles for 10 minutes each it will be fine and run it rich for a week also not mixing you oil to gas ratio correct is the worst thing you can do because it will simply foul plug after plug or blow up I’ve been running my big bore on my kx100 for a year and a half cause I treat it right and I’m always pinning it just a tip for if you ever want some more power don’t take this the wrong way

233cc???? Sounds to me like it’s got a over sized sleeve/barrel and they have put a stock 250 piston in it sounds very weak and I bet hard to start till it gets warmish... frame and stuff is alone worth what you payed for it though so your not going to be out of pocket, check if there’s any water in the expansion chamber if it’s a head gasket there will be anti freeze in the pipe usually.
