Well done! Glad to see it on the channel:) Love my 2006 V8 Sport Edition. Engine is buttery smooth. Agree with what you said...leave the suspension stock for now, get AT tires, & possibly skid plates. I had to replace suspension because the XREAS system was tired. Old Man Emu lifts are awesome for these trucks. 275/70/17 is the biggest tire I would recommend and it will fit in the spare tire carrier. So glad I didn't go 285 width.

All good things! That’s nice to know re: tire size. I like skinnies, so may go for a 255/75/17. Another 1.5” of tire height might be spot on for ground clearance too...for now.

@@TheTopher think that’s a great idea & it’ll be a bit cheaper, likely saves some MPGs & 5lbs per corner if going with KO2. For whatever reason when I was doing these mods in 2015 I was pretty much only considering 275 or 285. Can’t remember my reasoning, probably t4r.org suggestions. My 2001 3rd Gen had 265/75r16 BFG KO(1) with Old Man Emu lift.

Great find! Congrats! Definitely Dobinsons over Ironman. Mike at Exit Off Road can help for your set up for what you need. Spring rates for the bumper etc. Even if lift is mild spring rates and type of shock and valving matter greatly. Have fun!

Great buy Topher! I have an 06 V8 same color with 105k miles that we purchased new all those years ago. Mine has been lifted running larger tires with a more aggressive offset wheel and a Magnaflow exhaust. I love my 4runner and may keep it for life. I will do a major refresh one day and hand it off to my son. One thing to keep an eye one is the exhaust manifolds tend to crack due to the positioning of the cats. I will be replacing mine with some long tubes eventually. I just have to keep driving my mk7 R to keep the miles low on my runner hah.

Ran a 2005 Sport for 13 years, 210K miles. Really thought about keeping it another 100K, but got the itch and replaced it with new 2019. The only issue I ever had with it was that the front brake calipers would freeze up over time. I went through about 3 sets. Have fun!

SoCal here, CA laws suck but finding GX's, 4runners, etc. in rust free condition with low mileage is very doable.

Nice! FYI... you don’t have to hold the key when you start the engine. It has auto crank, just turn the key to start and release. You can hold it on start, it won’t hurt anything.

I remember my Mother buying ome of these in 2007, it was a black sr5, same interior as your 4runner, It has the back spoiler for the hatch Gate and omg the stereo system was impressive for the time, stock alpine, but you should invest on the back spoiler and paint the car a different color, black looks the best on them or a dark red, or maybe a dark Grey, also I'd watch the seals too they will leak and the fog lights always break, and the back hatch gate button might break too along with the interior lights they go bad after yrs, but besdies that we never had a problem with ours after 13 yrs till a ball joint gave out, you should do a stereo test on the 4runner, pink mirrors and all lol, I'd like to hear that radio again I miss it.
