6:20 I was a driveability tech at my GM dealership in the 90s and I can confirm these had really noisy injectors. People would bring them in complaining about the ticking noise

I figured it has to be, ticking sound does not sound internal whatsoever. I could just put my ear up to a screwdriver and find out for sure, but I’d rather not just in case 😂.

I had a 2000 Cavalier Z24 convertible from 2000 to 2018....a little over 250,000 miles when it finally died. It was white like yours, but the plastic inside didn't survive the Florida heat as well as yours. I loved taking that car down to the Keys back in the day. It was a really fun and good car.

I've got a feeling that the white leather seats and the inserts on the door cards might be custom work. If that was the case then the uncle certainly wasn't scared of spending money on the car, which is a very good sign indeed... Nice spot on the drop top Cavalier, you'll be a big part of that one's story now and, as you said, it's nice to have a fun soft top that you don't need to be too precious about so you're scared to drive it anywhere...

As someone who owns a sunfire vers of this car i can say that engine noise is def not normal lol. I am jealous that yours has the original radio. These cars were always a fun toy. Good speed and gas just a car that you drive when you want to go out for awhile. I had the same issue with the coupe convertible part difference, was always annoying when the part didn't fit exactly right. but most parts inside worked the same

The original "Quad4's" were 2.3L's too. These Twin Cam versions were pretty strong 4 bangers too but no comparison as far as power... Plus instead of blowing head gaskets which Quad4's were known for, these liked timing chains lol. Fun little motors though, generally reliable if maintained halfway well.

About 10 years ago I picked up a 1992 Z24 convertible with a 5 speed for $600.
