A word of warning from someone who has done those chains, do not turn the engine backwards at all costs!! If the vvt sprockets are good, the cam will spring backwards ruining them when it hits the stops damaging them internally Make sure all adjustments are made in the forward direction except VERY small ones when lining up the chain!! If you have doubts about the integrity of the sprockets, change them while the motor is apart the first time!!

I had one that blew the engine 437 miles over the max mileage allowed on the warranty. I just swapped in an engine Cadillac used in one of their cars that I got at the salvage yard. It was actually a Corvette engine, installed at the factory. That engine/tranny combo now has 187,886 miles on above whatever it had on it when the Caddy was wrecked. A fast reliable car with that change, and twice as fast as the “high horsepower V6 the dealer talked me into. Mileage isn’t enough worse or different from published numbers on the new car winter sticker to make me regret the change.

True story from an old man: Back when the first Camaro came out, the Lions club in my hometown of Wadsworth Ohio raffled off a new red RS. I was a pump jockey at a SOHIO station ( gas at 34.9), where the car was parked. Every night at closing ( ten PM) I got to drive the red Camaro into the service bay for the night. Six cylinder, two speed power glide trans! Gas tank lid was the “RS” badge. My name is Robert Stroud, and I really wanted that car. Mostly because of the gas cap! Best job I ever had. Paid my way through Kent State working there and commuting to school. Met my wife of 43 years there. Good Times ! N.E.OH Bob.

@inducedapathy1296

If it uses the same head units that were across the various lines you could get navigation but through Onstar. It would do turn by turn nav on the simple screen. That's with the lower end models too. Fairly certain at least on the Buicks and Cadillacs you could have the fullscreen nav as well prior to 2012. I think I recall looking at a 2010 Enclave with one. Traverse had a DvD navigation around then. I would think the Camaro would have similar setups for the same off the shelf stuff via GM. Hell GM has had remote start since at least the 90's on most vehicles as well as a heads up display. No clue why they don't put it into more models at this point. I don't know maybe the Camaro's were just left with nothing and you're right. Seems unlikely though.

As an Australian it humours me to see Americans giving the 3.6 some crap. We do the same here in Australia and have nicknamed the engine "Rattletec" as they tend to rattle and tick like crazy when something is on the way out. We also make fun of them for chewing through chains and its not uncommon to be hated on when you suggest putting an exhaust on one (the sound can be a hit or miss). I for one like the engine and don't have anything bad to say since my daily which also serves as my project and weekend hills cruiser has the early version of the 3.6 and its still going strong at 270,000km (168,000miles). Though we do love and much prefer the Ecotec 3.8 (3800 series). And fun fact, our 3800 Commodores are RWD so you can do massive burnouts with them. Its a great bloody motor and you cant kill them. We nicknamed it "Ecojet", which seems fitting.

Regular good quality oil changes and keep the coolant topped up. Simple! Cheap nasty tires as well. Why do that? It’s like asking an athlete to run the 400 meters with a diet of burgers, dehydrated, in a pair of crocs. On the plus side it means you can find a bargain out there if the engine and turbos on cars that have them isn’t toast.

So, did Harry's give you a script? That was really polished. If that's what it takes to keep you making videos I can deal with it. Love the channel.

For giggles, pour some Seafoam into the engine and see if that helps clean up the sludge.

If you haven't already, you should watch what Hoonigan is doing to their project Camaro. 6.6L coal roller. You might find this interesting.

I think you can fold down the back seat and put system components through that way. But yeah I sold a guy a basic dual vented dual 10” sub box and he couldn’t get it through his trunk opening so he just put it in the backseat to get it home. That opening is useless.

In this case the RS stands for really sick. Go run some gunk motor flush or maybe some kerosene and transmission fluid that will break stuff down really well too and see how it runs then. I literally had a top-of-the-line mechanic tell me I need a new motor in my 96 Silverado yeah I know 96 Silverado 4.3 guess what here it is 3 years later and it's still running just fine because I found out what the problem was and it didn't cost me anything to fix it anyhow John Robert nice video you stay safe and stay well and as always God bless

With that much sludge, DO NOT use an engine cleaner to try to break it up. You run the risk of partially dissolving the sludge and the parts that remain sorta solid can and most likely will clog up your oil passages. You'll go from just a really dirty engine to wiped bearings really fast. The only real way to clean the engine is to pull it, disassemble it, and really deep clean it. You are already running a risk of passage being clogged right now from sludge build up. The reason why the dealership is suggesting an engine replacement is because it's cheaper than pulling and cleaning the old one with the risk that you don't get everything and still end up with a paper weight. Dude, seriously, don't half ass this or it'll make the beemer look like a walk in the park.

You can get the 4 gauge pack cluster if you want. I’d suggest replacing battery first, you can also LFX swap it too. Go buy a engine out of an Acadia etc for cheaper. Buy a LFX Camaro intake manifold and that’s all you should need. Can swap a LFX in for under $2,000 and they make a little more power. Also to the wheels these only make 240-250~ Could also get the Mace cams since you’ll be putting new timing chains in. Need any help I can help

I know youtubers can't control the ads that come up on their videos, but I just sat through an ad for Advanced Autoparts and that's borderline sacrilegious.
