We ran the predecessor to that mower back in the early 80's. We would mow pastures with them. They were amazing machines. This one is still worth something to someone.

Always love your impression of junior mint😂 spot on😂its getting fuel but not spark. Lot of mowers have a safety switch that operates by holding the brake or under the seat

This thing is from the 70's no safety nannies back then.

Those fuel gauge/fuel caps are very very notorious for letting water leak through because I have those dreaded gas caps on a couple of my mowers and have to keep them covered up during rainy weather. We in past years had several of the Hustler mowers here in Kentucky with the highway department that were used for the rest areas and maintenance facilities. To be honest, Some models of the Hustler mowers were pretty gaudy looking compared to the other brand equipment that we had in our system. Most of our mowers were diesel and had the real heavy mower decks in which after they had some hours on them, I made welding repairs plating the left side of the mower deck where they scrubbed so much against the concrete curbs that you commonly see around parking areas at the rest areas. Unfortunately, I don’t know any specifics about the Hustler mowers that you probably don’t already know anyway. I really like your new introduction to your videos, Dave.

I'm wondering if there is some kind safety switch that isn't connected. We had a lawnmower similar to that and there was a safety switch under the seat was bad. It took us almost a week to figure out that was the problem.

Drain all the fluids and put new oil and fuel in it. Put some gas treatment in the fuel to dry out the water out of the fuel. Go back and check the plugs and wires. That thing is close to running, but water in the fuel and oil causes problems. Cover it up before it gets more water in it. You got it cheap enough to afford some input. Don't give up so easy on it. There's money to be made if you use your head about it. Change the filters.

I like how they both know the carb should be cleaned but neither wants to do it so they call junior mint but he doesn’t want to mess with it either so he just says keep trying it should start 😂. Just scrap it and get it over with.

If the spark plugs are easy to get to then take them out and squirt gas in each cylinder put plugs back in and see if it fires up.
