Good luck with this one. The GT shells are so rigid. Dont underestimate just how much stress has been sent through the body shell in a crash like that. Peak loads will have been significant due to the snapping rather than bending. Check the shock towers very closely. Known weak point after an impact like this.

Were the ceramic breaks optional if they were I’d replace all 4 with iron disks. You could sell the remaining good ceramic discs to help pay towards the build. Love the colour combo black graphics & white paint. This is a keeper for sure.

Surely someone aftermarket makes steel discs for these? That's what I was thinking myself. Sell the discs and use them to pay for a lot of the repairs. Can always buy another set at a later date.

Parts for 718 GT4 vs 981 GT4: there is a simple explanation: the 981 GT4 is way more rare and a true limited number series (as well as being a the rawer, lighter and more focused car). Thus in spite of the 981 GT4 being the older car there is much less of if (parts or whole) around. The 718 GT4 instead has been almost mass produced for a GT Porsche and that reflects in parts availability as well as you found it. And that is also good news for your 981 GT4: if you keep it long enough the chances are that at some point the market will reward its rarity...

Love this - great choice of car to repair, looking forward to the new videos. I'm currently restoring my old 944 Turbo and thought it was odd that the "drive flanges" on the gearbox didn't have any attachment to the gearbox. The 944 has an allen bolt that goes through the middle of the shaft to secure the flange to the gearbox. Sure enough I've checked the diagrams in the Porsche PET system and all I can make out is something that looks like a circlip possibly on the rear of the flange, although it helpfully says "unknown part"!

The reason why copart covers the number plates is if they are going through toll roads to stop the previous owner getting the ticket to pay the toll and the reason why the ceramic disc is missing from one of the front wheel it might have been removed due to the crash and when it arrived at copart I think Thay removed it from the car for easy loading it on people's truck's or trailers or the car transports
