In this video, I will search through all the old Silver coins and other coins from the 2 bags I purchased from my Silver/Coin Dealer. I paid $1500 in total but he knows the things I like and said that a customer came in and just sold all of their coin collection to him. Since I usually purchase all the old silver and he knows I like copper too, he let me get it all! I will be looking for key dates, semi key dates, upgrades, and of course and varieties within the years I hunt. I also will be assessing the value of the 2 bags to see if I did good in buying this coin collection. Hopefully you all enjoy this video! I know it's a bit long, but we had a lot to go through! The best part of this vid was that large cent with the “alterations” - if you will - because I never heard the back story behind those, super interesting!! I wish you could have went into more detail, although I def understand that you were trying to keep it rated G as well haha….But when you were explaining the situation on that large cent about the “E” changed to a “U” - your chuckle as you were tip-toeing around it - was absolutely priceless!!! Rob, one small mistake: The 1875 S quarter in the 2nd bag is actually a 20 cent piece, not a quarter. Also, you may want to check overtons on the 1822 and 1829 bust halfs. The 1821 is too slicked to assess. Nice score on all of these. I really liked the better date wheaties. Those were collected with intent. Hard to find, branch mints, even when well worn as these examples. I agree with you on the 1909 S rpm. The holed barber a heart breaker. They always drill the best:(

The first 09 is an S, and a vdb. The shadowing played tricks on you. Plus what an EPIC pick up, A fantastic 21 peace and 2 trade dollars. The 1875-s 20 cent piece is a variety not noted, its an S/S which i have slabbed.

Am i the only one that thinks this was a bad buy? Rob u should find a different coin dealer that is more honest.I find it hard to believe that the coin dealer didn’t go through this collection. He definitely picked out some better coins, he just left the low grade coins and a couple key dates to make it look unsearched. Looking at gray sheet value that $1100 bag was a bad buy. He should have gave u a lower price since you bought “the whole” collection. My local dealer sells everything at gray sheet prices so i always get good prices, with that being said in my opinion i would have paid $600-750 max for that $1100 bag
@RobFindsTreasure
3 жыл бұрын
For some, maybe $1100 is too much. I guess value is determined on availability, accessibility and the ability to purchase. He offered it up to me and I knew it was going to be a fun hunt and add some things to my collection. I am not always looking for the cheapest deal when it comes to coins (although I do prefer that), so I am ok with this purchase in general. Plus, he has been more than fair on other purchases in the past so if I pay a little extra here and there then I am doing my part to help him out as well.
