Literature is one of the loveliest parts of my life, which unfortunately for the past year almost I've been quite detached from. I've been disappointed with my current uni, the professors (the environment here is just toxic)...and often even feel out of touch with the texts we do in class. You're one of the biggest reasons why I, despite all the negatives, still continue to remind myself why I love literature so much and why I'm pursuing the degree that I'm pursuing. The moment I'm done reading any book, I rush to your channel to see if there's anything you've said about it. Thank you for your videos. You've been such a comforting presence in my life. Wishing you all the happiness. ❤️

DUDE. This won't work for everyone, and it def won't have everything on ur tbr, but if you have access to a library, find their shelf of books they sell (mine was hidden in plain sight, i walked past it day after day and didn't realize until they had a sale that the books were there for us to buy! So def ask your librarian), the books are DIRT CHEAP and you can find some STEALS. Mine sell paperbacks for 50¢ (£0.43) and hardbacks for $1 (£0.86), and have constant sales when they have too many and need to get rid of some (like 10 books for 10¢/£0.086, kind of sale) - I've found _Tipping Point_ by Malcolm Gladwell, _On Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous_ by Ocean Vuong, _The Bell Jar_ by Sylvia Plath, etc. they have some actually popular books, and I live in the middle of nowhere haha Sorry this was so long, I just tell everyone I can bc I've saved sm money and actually gotten some good titles in amazing shape, and want everyone else to have this opportunity 😂

ooh I recently read Swimming in the Dark and I thought it was such an interesting book! The German title (translated into English) is "One doesn't forget how to swim" and somehow that title is even prettier than Swimming in the Dark. I read Swimming in the Dark this summer and it was absolutely amazing ! As someone who loves historical fiction (and studies history), I was very interested in learning more about the Soviet regime in Poland. I also loved the fact that the two main characters have very different point of views on the dictatorship and the different ways in which they both try to survive in such an unfair environment. This book was an absolute delight as much as it could be heart breaking at times (since it is based on real events) but it’s definitely a must read for me. (Plus I was very proud to see that the author attended the same university as me, which was quite surprising)

Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow was probably my favorite book of the year. I had debating buying it, but then Jimmy Fallon picked it for his book club and the price plummeted on Amazon, so I grabbed it up. (I got the feeling Fallon never read it tho). Bunny was good and bizarre. I’m all in for hidden society/hidden underworlds/down the rabbit hole books. Wasn’t what I I’d expected from the blurb, but still good. BTW, if you do enjoy Tomorrow, you may like Rabbits by Terry Miles.
