Hey Mike and Melissa, I`m not really a Ford guy, but I understand your love for the old gal. Growing up with other muscle car guys, we used to call the transmission in this truck a `3 speed with granny low,` and with no power steering was called `Armstrong steering,` and if you didn`t have air conditioning, we called it `260 Air conditioning` (2 windows down at 60 MPH`). We used to have a blast when we were growing up, thinking back on those days is something I love to do, so thanks for the video. Keep up the great work and take care...

Hey Mike, I think 5k is a very good deal for that truck, very good deal! It would be sweet if your lower wood yard had enough cover to park all your equipment under to keep the weather and sun off them. The 250 looks great, it really does. Just call it, my F250. I think it's worth every penny! Great find. Even the tires look good. Now we all get to enjoy your new F250 Highboy. Yay!👍🚜❤🇺🇸🇺🇸

Mike, my son is restoring a 1969 F-250 Camper Special. 2WD. He has put a 390 with Edelbroch intake and 650 CFM 4 barrel. Headers with Cherry Bombs. The 4 speed is amazing. So much torque. The truck belonged to my grandfather, then my father, then me, now my son. Enjoy.

The year was 1977 and I lived a little north of Saint Petersburg, FL. One day I am driving past Grant Ford, one of the local Ford Dealers, when I see a 1977 Highboy F-250, brand new. It had to been assembled shortly before Ford changed to the lower stance 4-wheel drives.Just like yours mine had the independent transfer and the 3 drive shafts with the granny gear 4 speed transmission. I turned around, drove into their new car lot and bought it. It had the 351 modified Cleveland engine, power ram steering, 4.11 gears, bench seat and it was black in color. I fell in love. If you have never driven a vehicle with 4.11 final gearing on the highway...don't look for gas mileage. I kept it till '85-86, often wish I still had it today. BTW sold it on Auto Trader to a guy from PA, who was going to use it to plow snow.

Had a 68 GMC 3/4 ton with a 327 and 3 on the tree..... When you put the hood down it sounded just like my old truck!! Solid and heavy! Love the truck! Keep this at the west Virginia property while you're doing construction of your cabin down there, dump bed might be handy getting material. I had a 71 F100 with the 302, 3 on the tree, crager mags, dual exhaust, and it got 20 mpg. Pretty good for those years. Love the truck with the 390. My first new car was a 1965 with a 390. Then a 1979 Ford pickup extended cab with a long bed and a 390. What a truck, seemed like it was 40 feet long and then we added a popup camper and went west. Kept the truck for 10 years and sold it to a local farmer who drove it for another 12 years. It finally gave up with 240,000 miles with the same 390.

Great truck Mike brings back a lot of memories for me. When I was 15 years old my stepdad traded for a 1967 F150 and a friend of his wanted to swap the motors with him to put the motor in a station wagon. The motor in the truck was a 390 just like yours but the engine that my stepdad got for the trade was a 428 cobra jet out of a Torono. I was thrilled because I thought it was going to be my first truck when I turned 16 but after the swap my dad and I took it out for a drive and the truck was a 3 on the tree and my stepdad stopped on a old road and was going to see what it would do for burning the tires and it swapped ends so fast it was scary and upon this my chance of getting the truck was left out the window....not a first vehicle that you would give to a 16 year old but I loved all the rides I got in it.

I am going to love to see what the white pine will look like when you start cutting it into boards😃. On the truck purchase, congrats. now to think how many times you might get pulled over for not using your shoulder restraints, 🤣

Well congrats on the New truck..... I had a 79 150 4x4 long bed. 351 engine and automatic. It had 125,000 miles on it when I got it. It was a great truck for several years. And I had a 66 Ford Fairlane GT with that 390 in it. That was in 1971 I believe... Strong engine....

It looks like it is in great shape. It looks like it would be easy to fix the bed of the dump box. Personally I think that I would keep the dump box on the truck.

My dad bought a totaled 77’ with a blown 351 Cleveland and totally rebuilt it from the ground up doing all the work himself including making /machining custom motor mounts He put a 429 in it w Holley 4bbl carb and changed out the running gears to where the top end on the truck was only about 50 mph. It also had split rim wheels which I prefer for the proper LOOK in lieu of hub cabs and bench seat that was covered in…..”Real imitation Leather” 😂😂. It was used for our farm truck for many years. You really had to add weight to them to get any real pulling out of them though and it only got about 3 gal to the mile fuel consumption 😂😂😂😂. Enjoy it , really jealous here in Tenn.

Blue Mule would be a good name for that truck cause it looks like it will work like a mule. Old trucks like that have so much more character than the new ones. Nice buy.

We got our foam cannon from Autozone & the same foam concentrate. Used it on our van 3 days ago & it did an amazing job, thank you for the tip. Next is the F-350 Amarillo that needs a good cleaning! Saves so much “elbow grease”!
