I have had an older version of that thawing board for years. It uses the principle of heat induction. You have to put the meat on the side of the board where the cut-out grooves are on. The metal will "pull" the cold out of the object due to more surface area with the grooves. I think they work faster, but that is a relative term. I would say it thaws meat about 50% faster. Instead of one hour for a normal thaw on a cutting board, it will do it in 45 minutes. If a normal thaw on a thick piece of beef/steak would normally take 4 hours though, this will do it in about 3 hours. It is better to flip the meat every once in a while.

I also have an older version. I still use it. The directions said to occasionally remove the meat, run hot water over the board, then put the meat back on on its other side. It works pretty well!

The pads keep the metal board off the counter so your not pulling heat from the counter however once the amount of heat in the board is saturated by the cold of the meat, you could use the counter top as a larger heat sink. Kinda makes the feet Counter Intuitive. Mostly it's just going with metal absorbs transfers temperature differences quicker then plastic or wood. Why you have wood handles on metal turners.

Interesting. The defrosting tray you have looks like junk. However, I’ve had a two piece tray for years that is great. The bottom holds water, and the the second tray fits over the bottom one and holds your meat. This is much faster than your normal cutting board. Both pieces are quality. Bottom is a heavy plastic and top is some kind of metal.

•The thawing plate made its debut back in the 80’s, FAIL. Guess they decided to give it a try with a younger generation. •Find fresh eggs and get a counter holder. They stay fresh for weeks, are better for you and stay room temp, which is ideal for baking.

That meat thawing cutting board is not new it was a thing in the 90s and I had one back then. It worked like a charm. You could put an ice cube on it and it would instantly start melting even though the board was room temp the cubes melted super fast. And yes it thawed meat fast as promised too. Seems like the copy cat versions of today don't do the job like the OG one did which is pretty sad. And I'll take a hard pass on the egg cooker that looks like it's pooping out egg 🤮

Please get rid of your scratched up meat thawing board. The deep scratch marks are impossible to clean and are a microbial germ factory for anyone who touches it. The best board is a small butcher block made from end grain wood designed for cutting. The metal thing you tested is a thawing sheet. Keep safe.

I had a thawing board in the 80's that worked really well. I loved it. I wonder what happened to it? It was much sturdier than the one you tried. The egg shelf has to filled from the bottom and removed from the top. No danger involved. Not certain why you filled a few on each level. That seemed a bit counter-intuitive. I quite like mine, but I don't have littles at home anymore to sabotage the routine. The rollie was downright hilarious! Thanks for trying it so I don't have to! 😂

I’ve been interested in that egg cooker thing. But I would whip my eggs up and mix everything in it before I put it in there. Well, right after I finish this and send that you came in and said you couldn’t stir the eggs together and I don’t see why not. It would taste a lot better. I think I’ll pass on all of those. You might have used the wrong side of that flying thing I don’t know cause I have not seen it in person. But it was fun watching you try that stuff.
