Looks like a beast of a machine. I'm looking at small desk top systems more for fun and craft items and may buy later this year. Your system is to die for, so to speak. Everything one could want in a CNC router machine. I hope you do well with it. It looks fabulous. Thanks for the video. Looking forward to your next one.

Hey Larry, that sounds great! No matter the size, a CNC is so versatile and opens up many possibilities. (If you go for a CNC with an open frame design, you can let the workpiece overhang the end and afterwards work on the other side. This makes the effective cutting area double the size 😉 Just saying...). Yeah the next video will come very soon! 👍 Thanks for watching

@@BauWoodworks Thanks for the input on what to look for in a CNC. I will definitely meet that in mind when purchasing. Currently I'm favoring a Onefinity, 32" X axis by 50" Y axis. I make and donate corn toss game boards to memory care, and assisted living facilities
@larrycurran7005

Message got away from me. As I was saying I donate these boards to these type of homes. The people living there really seem to like the game. The board is 24" wide(X) by 48 " long(Y) so it will fit on the spoil board. This will allow me to do some design on the surface to enhance it's appearance including the name of the facility. Yes as you see, I live in an imperial country. However after working 28 years for the largest manufacture of precision metric measurement tools Iin the world I am very comfortable with the metric system and frequently do my work using the metric measurements as it is easier in most cases.

I was looking into the company BLUE ELEPHANT about CNC's and they were fairly expensive.. I love this video bro.. Could u tell me something if u don't mind answering my question please mate?? Q. How much is oner of the kits for building ur own CNC machine this size.. I am thinking about building my own CNC machine so I also would like tyo ask how tough it would be to build my own 5' X 4' CNC machine?? Would it be very expensive to buy the parts to build it or would it be too hard to get the software correctly set up for a home made CNC??? I would love it if u could answer my couple questions my friend.. Again I love this video

Avid is a great machine, I recently received the same size 48 X96 and added the rotary assembly. Which to this point is an expensive paperweight...It works fine I just have taken the time to use it. I felt your pain with the wiring, it wasn't hard, but tedious. Did you leave the front open for a vertical table? I did on mine, but like the rotary, I haven't used it yet. I subbed so keep the videos coming and good luck with the new toy.

Awesome! Just wondering, how much did it cost to get a avid cnc to europe? Dont you have any issues with imperial parts compared to metric parts?
@BauWoodworks
2 жыл бұрын
Yeah the shipping was around 900 USD not including import fees and customs (this obviously depends on the country you import it to). Regarding imperial parts: Most of the measurements were metric anyways. I only had to buy an imperial hex key (can't remember the size) and an imperial tape measure. So this was not really an issue 😀 Then I only bought metric bits...

Great build. i checked out the Avid Store and i think they are pretty pricey considering its just a Kit CNC. Why you didnt went for a 2nd hand? i think you could easyli grab similar quality and size for half the price or less. and their Laser upgrade ist simply a joke by price. should be mb 3-400 be a fair deal and not an extra 2-3K.... (i work in the Laser industry) ;)
