There's actually a 1 slot version of the 6400 too, another thing I'd recommend is getting Chimera OS instead of Holo ISO since Chimera is actively being updated while Holo hasn't been for months already

Surely it would have been easier to just drill a bunch of holes in that PSU. With a little bit of care you could make it look matching to the other airflow holes drilled by the oem.
@itggear3400
25 күн бұрын
Yes, you are absolutely right. At the beginning, I thought I would drill a bunch of holes. However, I didn’t have enough confidence to drill all the holes in a straight line in a grid. Also, since I lack the proper tools, I just used a grinder to cut a piece of ventilation from an old PC case and screwed it up as shown in this video. Thank you for watching.

I've never understood why people want tiny consoles especially when thry don't plan yo move it. Uou have a giant TV, huge sound bar subwoofer, but oh no yhe console can't be a vcr. I say make it nice, big and with airflow.
@itggear3400
24 күн бұрын
Valid point! Some folks prefer the ‘go big or go home’ approach to consoles-roomy, with airflow to spare. It’s like giving your gaming setup a VIP lounge. But hey, others love the compact charm of tiny consoles-they’re like pocket-sized gaming gems. As they say, ‘Good things come in small packages.’ So, whether you’re team ‘console mansion’ or team ‘console studio apartment,’ let’s keep those pixels popping!

I went full size and most of the advantage is storage. You don't have to compromise if you get a case with enough bays. Graphics card wise I've always been a bit cheap (dual fans) so I'm that regard it could be wasted space.

A PC running any good Linux distro can game with the steam app but also have other uses. I don't get the benefits of Steam OS
@itggear3400

I believe that many people, including myself, are not Linux experts. However, by installing Holo OS (SteamOS 3.0), the image package provides a complete setup that allows users to run Windows games on Linux without any manual configuration. It works out of the box with just a few clicks to install. Thank you!

On my channel, I focus on renovating old PCs to make them usable again. The HP Pro Tower 290 G9 is still new and valuable, especially since it is under support and warranty by HP, so we don’t need to modify it. Please note that any changes to the physical hardware of these PCs may void the warranty. Thank you.

The word ‘Build’ is often used as a video topic. If you search on KZitem for ‘building a cheap gaming PC,’ you’ll find thousands of videos about upgrading office PCs with titles like ‘I built …’.
@itggear3400

Also, in the video, I purchased the PC as a barebones system-it didn’t come with a CPU, RAM, or a hard disk. I then added those components, along with a GPU card, to create an affordable gaming PC. That’s why I referred to it as my own custom-built Steam gaming PC. Thanks for watching!

You are right. However, the RX 6400 only supports a PCIe x4 bus width. Additionally, if we install a 70W TDP GPU in the PCIe x16 slot of an HP ProDesk 600 G5 SFF, it won’t boot. I checked the forum for support and found that the PCIe x16 slot only allows GPUs specified in the datasheet. Thank you for sharing this information!

@itggear3400

Yes, you are right. Since the PC in the video is not too old, it supports Windows 11. I posted this video to explore the opportunity of making very old PCs, like those using Intel 3rd or 4th generation processors that don’t support Windows 11, still usable for gaming by installing a Linux OS. As we all know, Windows 10, which supports most PC hardware, will stop receiving support next year. This means many old PCs will no longer officially run Windows. I thought if we buy an old Dell OptiPlex PC for extremely cheap and add some SSD, RAM, and an AMD GPU like the RX580, which is also very cheap, we can enjoy gaming for less money spent.

does using steam os improves performance vs windows?
@itggear3400
11 күн бұрын
It depends on the game-some perform better on Windows, while others work more efficiently on Linux due to driver support. The concept of installing Linux, such as Holo OS, to play Windows Steam games on a Linux-based system has a couple of advantages: - Holo OS (Linux) is lightweight, making it suitable for older or low-spec PCs. - Linux is free, which means we can save on Windows license fees. Thank you

I Want A Pc Under 350 dollar with low power Consumption like 100 to 130 Please Suggest Me A Gaming Pc
@itggear3400
24 күн бұрын
Absolutely! If you’re aiming for a $350 budget gaming PC with low power consumption, there are some smart options out there. Instead of buying brand new, consider checking online platforms like eBay for used pre-built office PCs from brands like Dell, Lenovo, or HP. You’ll often find great deals on systems running 7th or 8th gen Intel CPUs, priced around $150 to $200. Now, here’s the secret sauce: Upgrade that gem! Boost the RAM, add an SSD, and slot in a low-power GPU. For graphics cards, look at options like the GTX 1650, RTX 3050 6G, or even the AMD RX 6400. The beauty? These GPUs won’t stress your power supply-they don’t need an additional PCIe power cable. With this setup, you’ll get decent performance, even handling some AAA games at 1080p with medium to low graphics settings. And here’s the reality check: For $350, I cannot recommend a specific PC model that meets all your requirements with exactly matching specs. Brand new PCs usually come with an initial higher price than used ones. So, embrace the pre-loved PCs, give them a little TLC, and game on!
