Thanks Funkyfp! Definitely get yourself one while we can still drive them. I’ve had this one 3 years now and it still makes me smile every time I drive it. All the upgrades are very easy too and I’m doing videos on fitting all the carbon bits. Hand built cars come apart with hand tools after all!

I too made my vantage the way I wanted with similar exterior mods as you and including the V12 Shifter but also added 200 Cells cats, a tune from Velocity AP and a twin clutch.... mine is a 2009 4.7L.... These machine are awesome and will never sell it :-)

Love the car, I have one. I prefer the rolled under sills down the side but I do like the grill and carbon mirrors. The rear diffuser I can leave and I will go for a carbon front splitter on mine soon. I like you kept the red rear lights, to my eyes they look way better than the clear lens lights. The Vantage is a gorgeous car, hand built and easily styled to your personal taste.... Like you I wasn't going to do any upgrades but once you have one, you just can't help yourself.

The N series sills do look great too, the V12 are more aggressive though and that’s what I was going for. The red lights really do look great against the silver colours.

We’ve found a kit for it which apparently works very well. It doesn’t fog up that often so it’s not been a top priority but it probably should be. 👍

Time to start on the Exhaust upgrade
@KingandTitanRacing
2 жыл бұрын
I have thought about that but I just can’t bring myself to mess with it yet. Aston employees someone to engineer the exhaust notes of every car to perfection, it’s hard to mess with that. I have of course pulled Fuse 22 as Aston only put those silly flaps in for regulations. That being said, I might be tempted by the Velocity AP upgrade and tune which gets an extra 40BHP out of it. 🤔

Did you realise any weight savings with the carbon pieces? I’m getting V8V and want to try and save some weight.
@KingandTitanRacing
Жыл бұрын
Yes but not what I’d call considerable. The original door arm rests are metal and much heavier, the kick plates are metal and much heavier, the rear diffuser has metal mounts and the carbon does away with all of that. The grille is much lighter but the original one isn’t too heavy. The mirrors and light inserts are plastic anyway so maybe a few grams at best there. The original slam panel is metal and probably a few KGs saved there. All in I would estimate 30KGs. Not a lot but it could be more if I weighed all the items. Maybe I will and I’ll do a short on that. 🙂
@KingandTitanRacing
Жыл бұрын
If you want to save weight I think people usually start with the wheels, as that’s unsparing mass you’d see a huge difference in handling there. Then the carbon lightweight seats are a club favourite too but both are very pricy.
@dylanriley2707
Жыл бұрын
@@KingandTitanRacing oh wow! Anything over 20kg I think is very considerable. That is awesome it made that much difference. I think the Aston is such a brilliant car but it is heavy and anything reasonable I can do to reduce that mass would be great. Thank you so much for the reply and I would very much look forward to a short or other video adding up all the weight savings! I was thinking of installing CCBs and carbon bucket seats, but oh boy are they ever costly! Thanks again.

Without wishing to sound too negative, please share how you have designed your car? A few bits of generic carbon fibre and a gear knob doesn't really constitue 'a design' does it? Intrigued about the Red Caliper Pins, are they custom?
@KingandTitanRacing

Sure, you saw shots in there of the computer model I used to piece it all together before buying the new parts in. But to start with I spent a lot of time with AM dealers and using the original spec books to create the perfect spec, how I would have ordered it from new as mentioned in the video. If you look at the description of the video you’ll see this is an absolute extensive list of changes and parts from all models of vantage to create my perfect car. 👍

Did you get parts made from your designs as well as purchase the Aston Martin bits ? Would be really cool if you got your own custom bits made in carbon and maybe sold them if there was a big enough market
@KingandTitanRacing
3 жыл бұрын
Not on the Aston as we wanted to build something the was OEM but our perfect combination. There are the custom plaques but those are just finishing touches. We do outright design and fabrication work on the racecar build. There isn’t really enough apatite in the AM world for aftermarket designs.

Hi, can I ask you about a couple of the mods. Did you fit the centre arm rest yourself? If so how easy? Also, is the height of the metal shifter linked to having that arm rest? Looks a lot higher than the leather gear knob. Just wondered if you had the metal gear shifter before fitting the centre retest, mainly to see if it was comfortable without the arm rest. Lastly, did you remove aerial? Assume you did this on the respray? Thanks
@KingandTitanRacing
3 жыл бұрын
Great set of questions there James. Mine is one of the last of the 4.3a to leave the factory and actually came with that centre console from AM. However, yes I have removed it as to fit the gear shifter you need to take out that part and then you can lift the Dacia around the gear stick. The metal one does feel like it sits a bit higher, it’s certainly more prominent in the cabin which is one of the things I like so much about it. I’ve never removed the Ariel, the car is actually wrapped not sprayed, so they didn’t need to remove that part. Are you thinking of fitting the centre console to yours?
@jameskeeling-heane6124
3 жыл бұрын
@@KingandTitanRacing Thanks for replying. Yeah, I’m toying with the idea of fitting one, along with the metal gear shifter. Other than replacing sill plaques and door sill tread plates I’ve left the interior alone. Nicholas Mee have priced a centre console up for me. I’ve debated between selling my 4.3 and upgrading to a 4.7 or V8S but I’ve decided to stick with my 4.3 and do some upgrades. Like you there’s elements of the 4.3 I prefer to the 4.7. I’ve just booked mine into AM Leeds for a few bits and I’m in with Aston Installations soon for a full infotainment upgrade. You’ve done some great mods to yours, looks great.
