Happy birthday! I have an idea for a video: A base or fortress of some kind that is built using Redstone related blocks and blocks that look similar to the redstone blocks (for example, oak wood, slime and stone for pistons and netherite blocks for hoppers and so on). I’m not expecting a city if this idea was tackled, but do as you please. It’s just an idea that popped in my head when I saw your diamond and emerald bases…

Scar once taught the community that if you want your Minecraft build to become more believable and feel actually lived in. You should make sure that any flames of fire that you place into your build, are not being blown in multiple different directions.
@captainphoton1693
2 ай бұрын
?? What does that mean?
@wisteriafleur3522
2 ай бұрын
@@captainphoton1693 I think it means you should make your minecraft builds as if they're liveable by humans. Since it's quite easy to let your creativity and imagination roam free in MC, taking miniscule details from our natural ways of living or our lifestyles can make a build feel more realistic since we can actually picture ourselves living in said builds. Like for example, what Scar said about the fire. We can picture others or ourselves lighting up a fire for say, camping or outside cooking. But since most of us in real life take extra precaution to avoid unfortunate circumstances we create solutions to keep the fire in one place to avoid us, others, or the environment from harm. Sorry if this is too long lol.
@captainphoton1693

@@wisteriafleur3522 OK I get it now. I've been doing that since I've started building. But my only issue with that is. How the hell do you make it not busy. I have trouble with my buolds. That are generl1tay seen as really good. But way too damn busy and confusing sometimes. I know the color palette issue. But again. A bussy palette don't make for a busy build. It's something else that make it nor work. And lively details make it really busy. I keep adding them. But sometime even a single one feel too much because my build is already quite full.

@@wisteriafleur3522I’m pretty sure it just means that when you’re building flames (like this guy did for torches) all the flames should be blowing in the same direction since that’s what would be realistic.

very cool build. i heard you say that the architecture was Greek and Roman a few times, but it’s definitely just Roman. classical Greek architecture doesn’t really use amphitheaters, and some of the buildings definitely have a very Etruscan look which would make it Roman; the Greeks never had any ideological ties/exchanges with the Etruscans. other than that, Greek and Roman architecture is very similar. but once again, good job on this.

10:37 Ballista: During the Middle Ages, it was one of the original weapons that had success against fortified castle walls throughout Europe. The most famous appearance of the ballista in the Middle Ages was the Siege of Dover in 1216, when the French were able to get through Dover Castle's walls. Although it was the ancient Greeks that invented it. Trebuchet: This war machine was invented during the late Middle Ages by the Chinese (around 1400 AD) in order to destroy the great walls of the enemy palaces

Interesting fact about the greek world: not only Athens had an Akropolis! Actually almost all greek cities (poleis) had an Akropolis, with the one in Athens being the one best known today. They were the last resort of Defence of a city and often contained the religious center of the city and also the treasury. A really impressive example of an Akropolis is the Akrocorinth, the Akropolis of Corinth, that towers high over the city (like literally, it’s ridiculous how one could counter that beast in the sky, look it up).

*Happy Birthday Mangoman!* Incredible build as always, at that point I feel really embarassed to complement and/or criticize your builds like that considering I'm not 10% as good of a Minecraft builder as you are. But really, this city turned out absolutely glamorous. The dock area surrounded by a wall is my favourite area. I just have a few history-related tidbits to note about the city, considering it's very much inspired by greek and roman architecture. First of all, I find it rather intriguing that the city is a full mix of the Greek and Roman arstyles/architectures. They are considered pretty similar by some but that couldn't be farther from the truth, despite that the blend works really nice here. For example Palace area heavily reminds me of Athen's Acropolis, which is also a tiered palace/temple situated on a mountain at the centre of a city. The theatre you built looks very Greek-esque too, as these kinds of half-circle theatres were popular in there. The messy roads and alleyways also remind me of Ancient Greece, and the paddle ships you made are very much like those in the Argonauts' myth. Meanwhile the rest of the city is very much Roman-esque, down to white buildings with the red roof tiles and of course, the Amphitheatre _(Which for some reason everyone seems to call Colosseum, in spite of the fact that the Colosseum is just the name of the single famous one in Rome)_ is one of the most Roman things one could imagine and probably the first thing people think of when they hear the word Rome. Also, no matter how funny I find the presence of gallows in the market area *11:41* it is worth noting they weren't a form of punishement in the antiquity (Crucifiction was, instead), not like this build is supposed to be historically accurate of course. One last thing I'll mention, it would've been cool to have a sort of a ''borrough'' area to the city where the poorest people of the town would live in, because 80% of the houses being for the rich and wealthy people and 20% being for the regular citizens/common folk is not that realistic and depicts a very utopian ancient world (Which, this being a fully fictional kingdom, I'm absolutely fine with). As the build is based upon ancient Greece/Rome so much, it would've also been very cool to have an aqueduct, but perhaps I'm asking for too much. _Looks like I got carried away with writing again, so sorry for bothering._

Hello! Its been a while since u built it but it still is amazing! I would just like to say what would I add to improve it! I think that yellow-white banners would look great in the trading place in the poorer part of the city. U could place them with the yellow “roofs” covering the trading stands. I also think that a church would fit great in a kingdom like this! The city also feels a little empty so maybe placing villagers would be cool. For each -wealth category u could make the villagers a different profession so it will be noticeable that they are diffrent social ranks. Thats all, i hope that this can help to improve this amazing build ❤

If I consider your project not taking into account the historical factor then my vote is 10/10, you did a great job and veramente...complimenti. If I consider the historical part then we are really bad I would say 3/10 here is a list of some errors: 1) You say you want to make a Greek kingdom but then 30 seconds later you say you want to build a Colosseum (More generally an amphitheatre) which is a Roman structure. 2) The theater you built is of the Roman type, the Greek one is in fact built on the slopes of a hill to avoid having to build a structure. 3) You named Rome, so I would say you want to make a Roman kingdom. So here are other mistakes: 4) You built the royal palace as a temple, which should be a place of worship 5) You created a single statue as a cult, when in fact Roman society was a Polytheist and dedicated multiple temples to the gods, with a statue inside, not just this one. 6) Unlike what is believed, the Roman statues (like the Greek ones) were colored 7) As with the royal palace, even the houses of the people you made were in the style of the temples, wrong. Those for poor people were usually rectangular with several floors, similar to a modern building (where, however, the higher you lived and the poorer you were) The rich instead lived in the Domus, two-storey houses with internal gardens 8) You have structured the city like a medieval town, in Roman times the plan was much more precise, with a cardo and a decumanus (perpendicular to each other) as the main streets, at whose intersection the forum branched off, and the rest of the streets parallel to these

The build is incredible. Although it looks more like a Roman city rather than a Greek one. And bty those "palaces" are called pantheons, which is where the romans and Greeks worshipped the Gods.

Fun fact, the difference between roman and greek style regarding the pillars is that in greek style the pillars have an actual function. In roman style the pillars are just decoration. So your pallace is actually greek style!
