1) I bought a blanket for 150 and immediately remade it. Now I don’t mind paying 1000 for it (I don’t understand why they don’t do this right away).
This compactly folded product will not take up much space, but, on the contrary, will make the car interior more comfortable.
This pillow can also be used under your head on the go.
Any size can be made. But for a car, 1.40 x 1.05 m will be convenient. Not big, not small, and won’t get in the way.
To work you will need:
- plaid
- 2 zippers, 50 cm long.
- 2 squares of any fabric 35x35 cm
How to sew?
- Cut two squares from any fabric, measuring 35x35 cm, this already includes allowances. I took my husband's unnecessary shirt.
- Sew them together, iron the seam.
- Since I have a blanket with cat paws, I made an applique of a cat. I smoothed the interlining and stitched it with a zigzag on top.
- Unzip the zipper all the way and place it on the fabric. Do this on both sides.
- At the turn, cut the zipper.
- Stitch. This is done on sewn squares.
- Now this rectangle with a zipper needs to be stitched to the blanket in the middle. The zipper is folded inward and sewn with a finishing stitch.
- I folded the edges of the blanket and stitched it with a wide zigzag.
All is ready! Now you need to fold the product into a pillow. To do this, bend the blanket 3 times along its length. Fold the squares further inside and fasten the zipper.
It turned out to be a pillow.
This item is designed to provide warmth and comfort on the go.
2) I bought two blankets. I'll show you what a cool outfit I made from them.
When I see such rolls of blankets in stores, I always want to buy them. They are so light, soft, warm, and come in a variety of colors.
And now it’s very cold, and I want to warm up and be warm. Therefore, I will sew a home suit from blankets.
- I made the simplest amateur patterns, and they fit me exactly. You can cut them out for yourself, using your own measurements.7
- The trousers can be made wider or narrower. I made it narrower for myself.
- I connected all the parts using an overlocker. The pants were sewn in 20 minutes, 4 lines, and they were ready, then I sewed on the waistband and elastic bands on the legs.
- For the elastic bands, I took the same fleece, cut out strips, then sewed them and folded them in half. Their size should be smaller than the part to which they are sewn. To do this, I stretched the elastic a little.

The result is a very cozy warm suit, pleasant to the body and very comfortable.
3) A simple and cozy thing for the home made from a new blanket. Just the thing to make a spring evening warm (I regret that I didn’t think of this before).
The plaid, complemented by sleeves, will captivate lovers of unusual things. This blanket keeps you warm, it’s easy to move around in it, and most importantly, your hands are free when switching the remote control, looking at your phone or other movements.
Such a blanket can be sewn from fleece or similar fabric, which is sold by the meter, or you can take a ready-made blanket and add another material to the sleeves.
The main thing is to place the sleeves at such a distance that they do not hinder movement.
To do this, you need to make slits for the sleeves on the canvas. The most convenient distance between them is from 50 to 60 cm, depending on your build.
The width of the sleeves can be from 20 to 30 cm.
The distance from the top to the beginning of the sleeves is from 20 to 30 cm.
For my product I took a ready-made blanket from Fix Price. For the sleeves, fleece is of the same quality.
Fleece is very easy to work with. Usually it is a stretchable fabric and fleecy on both sides. It is lightweight, washes well and dries quickly. The edges do not fray, so they do not require additional processing.
My plaid has a distance between the sleeves of 50 cm, a sleeve width of 20 cm and a length of 40 cm, the distance to the sleeves is 20 cm. These sizes are suitable for a small size.
- First, I made slits in the blanket.
- I stitched the sleeves and sewed them into the plaid.
- It took no more than 20 minutes to make.
- If you wear a blanket as a robe, you can sew a belt.
With this cut, the sleeves at the bottom are wide. If desired, you can narrow them or insert an elastic band.
