Otherwise why have 1,500 word essays if they're useless? 🤔
@TheSkinnyLegend1997
27 күн бұрын
@@KazShiroI mean in school isn't 1,500 word papers common? Why would teachers tell you to write that much if it was useless too? But also they don't treach cursive anymore like in my mon's time (she was born in 1983, I was born in 2006). Now gen alpha (my little brother (12), my little sister (8), & my baby sister (1) are gen alpha) isn't learning they're multiplication tables, but they have calculators on there phones for that so they don't need to learn it, just like I didn't need to learn cursive because in my school they're was typing classes on computers and you could change the font to anything you wanted. So that means that education is always changing so you shouldn't hate gen alpha for that reasons at all and blame adults instead for changing how the world works. It's not gen z or gen alpha changing things but it's the adults who invent new technology but they don't get hate like gen z or alpha does even though it wasn't our fault this happened. You should be blaming Elon Musk for changing society to be like this or blame any adult tbh who changes society for new technology like this because they wanted this. But adults are hypocritical because they blame kids for embracing new technology but why not? You did too, you watched tv as a kid while you're parents read books and wanted you outside. It's the same things you millennials blame kids being on phones that you use all the times, you're all hypocrites and want reasons to hate kids so you could use all the technologies for yourselves. Kids gen z and gen alpha will use technology wheater you adults (millennials) like it or not. I'm gen z adult and I won't continue you're generational trauma on the youths. I was abused as a child by you adults, then you wonder why I don't like you. I won't have kids and they'res nothing you can do about it, I won't continue the abuse on kids because I won't have kids so you can continue to abuse them.

That's not called being lazy, that's called being efficient. That's called knowing the limits of the budget and the workforces stamina in the long run of 3-5 years that a feature hand drawn animation move takes to complete and do whatever it takes to actually be able to cross the finish line, without burning out your exhausted animators. I know you say this as a joke, but sadly, the litteracy of lots of viewers nowadays is pretty abysmal, and I can bet a lot of them will take your joke of "animators are lazy" at face value. So when the Animation guild will inevitably go on strike later this year because they're by very far the hardest working industry in the entire show-business field, and have been at the receiving end of years if not decades of brutal overexploitative treatment and massive disrespect from all the big studios, many of your viewers will just think "oh, they're lazy entitled people who want to get paid with less work", and not support them during their strike. And in a few years, people will be surprised to see that animation movies have simply ceased to exist, because all the animators have either changed career due to having been laid off because of projects cancellations (all the ongoing projects Netflix killed after losing subscriptions), studios restructures (Dreamworks recently laid off 90% of its animators in their main California studio to focus only on the Vancouver one... Because the ones in Cali dared to unionize !), or thanks to AI. Or have died of exhaustion (cue the Vulture article about the inhumane working conditions on Across the Spiderverse at Sony)... All to be replaced by soulless AI replacement with lifeless eyes and 6 to 8 fingers per hand. Welcome to the future, friends. So please. Have some respect !

In the years I have been studying 3D modelling, we students developed a phrase "si no se ve, no se modela" (if it can't be seen, don't model it) It saves time, gives you leeway, helps optimize games... it also applies to almost every other aspect of art. The idea is to trick the viewer/player into thinking everything is complete, even if isn't. No need for more. That's why sometimes rigs will be broken for a scene, or an extra light added where there should not be one. I'd say it's 5% laziness, 95% just common sense. Anyways, have a nice day reader :D

Japan: Ever thought about animating on 2s, 3s and 4s and just focused on giving good characters?
@elvenette
Ай бұрын
can you explain what animating on 3s and 4s mean?
@aawake
Ай бұрын
@@elvenette 3’s means a picture lasts for 3 frames. There is 24 frames in a second in animation, on 3’s it means every image lasts for 3 frames, so there is only 8 images per second. A quick calculation you can do if you want to make it easier is this: If it says 3s, then do 24 divided by the given number “3”, and it gives you your frames per second. 24/1=24fps, 24/2=12fps, 24/3=8fps, etc Disney usually animates on 1’s, (or at least they used to back when they made 2D movies). Though 1s isn’t really necessary for any technical reason other than looking smooth, unless something fast is happening on the screen. 1s can also feel floaty and weightless unintentionally since it’s constantly moving, though for general audiences, just looking smooth sometimes gives off a quality feel even for scenes where it’s just lots of inbetweens another limitation is that (due to doubling or tripling the needed frames) it requires drawings to be less detailed in order to get the work finished on time. Not necessarily bad, it’s just the trade off. 2s usually looks just as good, and feels more sharp and intentional in movements, and is better for “weighty” scenes. This pretty much is true onwards that the picture and weight quality kind of improves as you use less frames, but of course there’s a point where it can look choppy, so you need to find a balance

The lazy one is the most creative one, because they will somehow find a way to do things in the shortest way possible

People say it’s okay for animators to lazy yet they criticize them when they use generative ai

This isn’t really being lazy it’s more so their working around something they don’t want to animate in a pretty smart way if you ask me but using ai requires almost no effort and is usually much worse

@@tonightondadsphone5692I’m more talking about using generative AI to clean up backgrounds. I don’t think it’s very useful for animation yet

As a filmmaker, that’s really clever and better than just having a bunch of similar shots of characters running

It worked out for the best honestly because animating it that way added a thematic and visual interest.

As an animator, its pretty fine to be lazy but all we need is to focus something hard or something you have in mind to make.

the best part is sometimes its more iconic to use a focused in shot of what people are about to do through shadows or what they are wielding.... but i do remember wanting more animated scenes of people as a kidback in the 90s haha
