A friend in the early '70s mother, bought one of these Fiats. Nice little car but certainly not built to handle North American roads and highways. They didn't keep it for long. OUCH!!! I work at Sunbelt Rentals. Climbing in and out of equipment like skid steers will bite you when least expected! Love your skill and experience operating machinery with forks, as an older fella you've inspired me to do the same!! Always enjoy watching your videos from start to finish!!! ✌🇨🇦

They work fine cruising at 60-70 mph on the highway, but prefer rougher curvy roads. This, the 128, was the car VW picked apart to study when they made the Golf. Or I guess, Rabbit over there. Just don't ruin the engine by driving like an old lady, like all other Italians, they want their revs. Don't change the gear when you can, wait until you have to. Like any proper Italian man would do.

@@rudolphbondefangerer5513 The "Rabbit" was a great car replacing the "Beetle" in Canada. I worked at a Chinese restaurant delivering in both because the owner liked these German cars. My dad bought a new '68 Beetle and that sparked my love for VWs!

The car at the beginning of the video is a FIAT 128 ESTATE ( or a station wagon in the US) and here in Wales UK 🏴 I used to have a 128 saloon that was heavily modified and it was an absolute demon and especially in the corners as the suspension was fully braced and lowered and it ran a 1500 X19 engine with a high lift camshaft with twin Webber 40s , I loved that car and it was the most reliable car I've ever had, a real wolf in sheep's clothing.

We once sent out a 40 yarder with 47,000 pounds on it. All brake drums, rotors, calipers and loose front end components left over from the 70's. We did get a call on that one, but we didn't haystack it over the container edge. That was the only stipulation they gave us, nothing over the top, and there was nothing over the top as instructed. New instructions were added after that. Years back we sent out a big dump trailer loaded with engines, mostly pre 1980's V8's, overall was 110,000 with 80 being the max allowed, don't remember what the load itself was. Driver knew it was heavy, he didn't care, more informal times, but he would have been busted if caught 30,000 over.

It would be fun to see you find some random weird stuff in your salvage yard and do a video on crushing it... generators, appliances and anything odd like that. For some weird reason that entertains weird people like me. Maybe stack them on a car or something and squish them on it. It might be a waste of time, but sure is fun to watch!

OMG! that's a FIAT 128 station wagon Circa late 1970's. That's the one car I regret having sold. Sold mine to a friend for his first car. It had a really simple air source for the interior. It was basically a hood scoop, except that it was for the interior. The last day that it was in my posession, I discovered that you could fold down the rear seat to expand the cargo area. It was a secret sedan delivery. Sadly, I am in another country right now and I can't go over and get it. Curious fact, it has the same engine that the FIAT X1/9 has.

At the time (the 70s) station wagons were called (in Italy) "familiare" (in this case familiare means "for the family"). We would never call it estate, as estate means summer. The car, a Fiat "centoventotto familiare" is very rare. Allegedly this car was inspirational for the Germans to create the Golf.

Outside of the sheets of tin and other metal a lot of that rusted steel was actually steel pilings that are used for making coffer dams to construct trestles and for other types of construction with concrete. They use a crane with a pile driver to pound the pilings into the ground so those pilings had to weigh quite a bit apiece. My question is what was the farmer doing with those steel pilings in the first place?
