We have a female hobbling around the woods near my house for almost ten years with a broken front leg. It's really hard to look at. It tears your heart out every time you see it. It still gets blood flow because it looks normal, but it buckles in every direction every time she puts it down and puts pressure on it. But, she has birthed a couple of dozen fawns. She just keeps on keeping on. I haven't seen her for a couple of months but I'm hoping she's still around. Shes git to be at least 12-15 years old now.

@AD270479 I find it very offensive when others take offense on someone else's behalf. It's like saying, "it's okay, I'll defend you since you're clearly incapable of doing it yourself." We have deer hunting season for a reason. The deer population would be out of control if we didn't cull the numbers. This would result in more disease and lack of food for the deer. Rehabilitating a grown deer makes little sense. Putting it out of it's misery is a kindness.

I’ve got deer in my backyard…I leave front and back gates open during the winter so they can travel through my yard unhindered and free from human obstacles and vehicles. There was a fawn who had a damaged front leg, but thanks to its mom, it has survived so far. She brings her fawns close to her and they travel through my yard. I keep a close watch on them and so far the fawn has grown and is doing much better. It still limps a bit, but it is starting to heal nicely. The doe always has either twins or triplets with her. I have lived in my home for seven years now so this doe has to be at least 10 or more years old, because our neighbor has been living in our neighborhood longer and noticed the doe with that many fawns every year he lived here. Besides being hit by cars, Since deers legs are like they are, they can break them if they step into a unseen hole, and take them down.

I would have called the wild life rescue or someone to help the poor baby cuz if he gets sepsis infection from his broken leg that's a horrible way to pass but I pray God will heal him and protect him God bless all living fur babies and ppl
