CAMPSITE REVIEW 👋
Stockton Lake | Collie | WA
💰 $11 PN/PP / $3 per child
🚽 Toilets and bins provided
🐕 Dog friendly
Imagine the bluest water you’ve ever seen surrounded by a tranquil bush setting 🌳
The lake's colour is remarkable, and believe it or not, the lake used to be a coal mine ⛏ Having closed in 1960, the open-cut mine has since filled with water making it a cracking camping spot and popular for water sports ⛴
As it was once a mine, it is essentially a vertical drop a few feet into the water and makes a pretty epic swimming hole 🏊♂️ small cliffs line the lake, which makes an excellent spot to bomb dive in 👋
The best spot in the campground is pretty much immediately as you enter the ground as it’s a lot more private, the other places are more open, and you’ll share the area with others. As you can see, we had our section to ourselves 🙌
Also, weekends get a bit of traffic from locals, so try and arrive midweek to secure a good spot 🙌
We felt safe enough to leave the van here, so This is an excellent spot to also base yourself for exploring the region :
✅ Wellington National Park
✅ Lenard’s 4WD track
✅ Wellington Dam
✅ Gnomesville
✅ Mountain Bike Trails
✅Black diamond lake
✅ Glen Mervyn Dam
Ranger comes by daily to collect the fee, and it’s cash only 🙌
The town of Collie is only 10 mins away and has coles, woollies and everything else you’d need 🛍
Lake Stockton is up there with one of our favourite stops in Aus, and we can’t wait to be back 🙌
Негізгі бет I can't believe we almost missed this place! Stockton Lake | Western Australia
