If you have enough lenght yes. Cut out that section, put an end on each piece left and use a coupler. However may be cheaper and better for consistent speed etc to just replace the cable especially if it carries POE.

I have spliced cat 5 cables… I am fairly sure cat6 would not be any harder. Just cut the outer skin off and you can see the little wires in side color coded. Get a soldering iron, solder , heat shrink and black electrical tape.

😂 suggestion maybe run it underneath one of the boards that goes along the fence that way you have a chance of hitting the board before hitting the cable or painted the cable Orange or get a small pipe an put the cable through that and then paint the pipe to match the fence that way you can't see the pipe from a distance. I feel bad for you man first you get your thumb smashed by a door then you get sick and then you cut your internet cord with a trimmer 😢🤦😆. well I hope you have a better day and a better week. Hey you could have what we're having over here in the United States by me I'm having it rain every day almost all month and half of them are tornado warnings or thunderstorm warnings.

You can cut and make off with new RJ45 connectors and put in a junction box and use electrical gel which will prevent water ingress to the cable cores and can do yourself, however I would recommend order a big length of new CAT6 cable and fit yourself easily done but I would suggest running under your boards or conduit.

Could you add a junction box/splitter to bypass the damaged spot? At least as a temporary fix? I'm sure the best option is to replace the entire length and maybe run the new cable through some kind of PVC or corrugated metal tubing to help protect it in the future. *I don't know enough about your local building codes or cable installation to offer any professional advice*

Hopefully you have a bit of extra length somewhere in the scheme of things. Strip the black plastic away then strip the wires and twist them together keeping the pairs together. Don't strip too much as the twists are important as well. Replace when possible

I'm no expert, but if it's a glasfiber cable, it's going to be expensive, and it's best to replace it fully. If it the old model cable ( sorry I'm dutch so I don't know every correct English word) then you might be able to place a connection box to replace the broken piece. Wich might be cheaper. But like I said before I'm no expert.😅
@shannonharris

He calls it cat6... Which stands for "category 6"... Its not fiber glass. Cat6 is old school copper cable but can run at faster speeds.... Its almost identical to cat5 and is usually the type of cable you get when you buy/rent like a router or modem, it'll usually come with a few feet of cat5. Not too many people use cat6.

Feel for you dude. Do you have "Power Over Ehternet" (POE)? Almost certainly not, but if you have something like a VOIP phone or wireless access point that doesn;t use a power cable, then you may. Your switch/router will say POE on it. If no POE, your cat 6 is only passing very low voltage data, cut through match the colours, and connect the sheath too (helps with interference). Bodge some waterproofing to get you through the weekend. I'm not aware of any waterproof couplers, but ordinary indoor couplers are easy to get, and you can pick up a kit to fit ethernet plugs on amazon or ebay very cheaply (I'm going to suggest buy one with a tester, or buy a tester with a fitting kit). Fitting plugs is easy, follow the diagrams included, if they show 2 schemes, just make sure you use the same one for both connections. You just trime the ends straight, lay into an open plug in the right order and use a tool to close the plug and push the wires down are the same time. you will then want to fir an IP66 or better box around it for waterproofing. Honestly, I would get one with round glands (usually separately, size for the cable diameter) and assemble it all in the box before fitting the plugs. Don't panic you won't electrocute yourself. If you do have POE, it carries 12V power so maybe skip the bodge and wait until you can do it properly. I personally would do the bodge, actually I wouldn't because I have the kit to fit plugs and a coupler.

Generally, you cannot repair Cat 5/6/7/8 cabling other than at termination, and only when there enough slack left. You could use a time-domain reflectometer to locate the fault - hopefully at one end -, remove the faulty segment and re-terminate.
