Hi Emma I’ve been watching your channel since the beginning I live in the North of Scotland, I love organising. What I think you should do is rethink your pantry empty it completely and even if you have to have a joiner for a day, have the shelves done all to the ceiling. Don’t store things in there you probably will never use get plastic boxes that are safe to store in your shed. Coats and jackets shouldn’t be stored in there either just be practical and ruthless!! I know because I’ve had to do the same. I don’t know how you do all you do you’re so busy. I enjoy your channel. Jen

Hi Emma, recently found you & have been going back through some of your older videos. I also watch Remi Clog & I find the both of you very nice to listen to. You both have lovely, calming voices. With regards to your washing machine & cycles. I wash all clothing at 40 degrees as I use a non-bio due to several family members having skin issues, micro fibre cloths at 40 degrees, all towels, bath mats, tea towels & bedding on at 60 degrees & my shower curtain on at 50 degrees (I know you don’t like them but I prefer a shower curtain as it’s easy to wash & water marks on a glass shower screen would drive me insane 😂). Then every month I run a clean cycle with an empty machine & a washing machine cleaner (I use whichever brand is cheapest/on offer at the time) & clean the drawer & empty the filter. I wipe out the drawer, the door & the rubber seal after each use & leave the door open. I also tend to remove the washing as soon as possible as leaving the washing in the machine for too long creates the smell. I live in Wiltshire & the town I live in has really hard water, so when I do my tea towels or my cleaning cloths I put in some Calgon to help reduce limescale build up. It’s the only wash I use it in because of skin sensitivities, plus it’s quite expensive, too expensive to use in every load. Hope this helps x

@@Kate.West.That’s good to know, thank you! I will give it a try. Because it’s so expensive. I got 2 bottles whilst it was on offer. We recently had to replace our washing machine (after over 8 years of heavy usage) I never used Calgon before, just kept up with monthly clean cycles. The sales person told us newer machines are now built to last only 24-36 months, so I thought I’d start using it as one way of trying to prolong the life of the machine. Maybe they were trying to sell us the extended warranty, but if so it backfired as we were like “Why would we buy a 5 year warranty for a machine you said wouldn’t even last that long? And what we pay out in that time on the warranty, we could put away & put towards the cost of a new machine” 😂

I always brown my meat. We eat a lot of ground turkey or chicken, and it makes it more "beef" like, if it's browned along with adding lots of cumin and garlic powder, which also adds to the meat like flavor. I know people put raw meat in their slow cookers and add a bunch of ingredients on top with their broth or soups or whatever, but I still think it would taste so much better if the meat were browned before putting it into the slow cooker. I've noticed our ground meat has a bit different texture also and browning it has helped considerably. I've heard horror stories about front loading washers when it comes to odors. I still have a top loader and when the day comes that it no longer works or is repairable, I will replace with a top loader. I am just not keen on the front loaders, unfortunately. I do think they look rather nice, but too many headaches. I hope the suggested cleaner works. Also, I think if I were doing a 75 degree wash, I would do my white towels, not my colored towels. Just my 2 cents worth.

Regarding my desensitisation treatment - my ENT surgeon referred me as I had exhausted all surgical options and was on maximum medication and still symptomatic. As I wanted to wait for injections (SCIT) rather than oral drops, I ended up waiting 3 years for the drug to become available on the NHS. Delay due to Covid and drug supply issues. But I found evidence for injections was better so was willing to wait. About 70-80% respond to treatment. Treatment lasts for 3 years but can be effective for 10 years. As it’s quite novel there isn’t a great deal of data but it seems to be a much more common treatment in the USA. After 12 months of treatment my asthma is much better, as is my sense of smell- which isn’t always a good thing 🤣

I mentioned you to my mom today and she reminded me that I did the majority of the dishes from 4th grade (age 10) until I left for college. There are pictures of me helping my grandma with washing up when I am three or four. Besides tidying up after myself and mowing ours, my grandma or great aunt's yards, I don't recall any other chores until I started helping with laundry in high school.

@@nanholmes9229 in England we put washing machines in the kitchen. In brand new houses they are often very small but have a utility room. We don't have a utility room as our house is nearly 100 years old. I have a combi but it's not that effective.
@NSawhney

Electricity costs a lot more in England than it does for us in the US. Their bills are insane compared to ours. dryers are slowly becoming more common. However, many homes really do not have the space. Their machines are much smaller than we are used to too. That can usually be because of the need to fit under a counter in the kitchen which is where a water hookup can be found. The bathrooms tend to be much smaller than ours, as well. So putting a washer in there is not a common option. The newer homes are building things more like we are used to in the US. I still see smaller machines, though. Last thing I’ll say, the washer dryer combo, I sew more of those when I visit family in England to save space. The water collects in a canister inside the machine or a pullout section.
@ericadrake387

Washing machines tend to go in the kitchen because that’s where all the water pipes are. Plus like Emma said, most houses don’t have utility rooms or laundry rooms, especially older ones. Sometimes one might be added with an extension on the house but they’re not standard for older houses & most houses in England are fairly old. Also because of no separate utility/laundry area it’s not always possible to get a tumble dryer either due to limited space, because again, it would most likely have to go in the kitchen. Sometimes you have to put them in another room like a dining room (if you have one) which isn’t ideal either. Washer/Dryer combos can be used, but they’re not always that good. Not to mention time consuming, so takes several hours just to do one load of washing. My dryer just broke & we’re not going to replace it at the moment as we’ll have the heating on soon & washing will easily dry over night on airers next to the radiators.

Hi Emma, please don’t put any coloured wash on a 75° wash, only white towels. I must say we had a decent day here on Wednesday,clear blue sky but lovely and windy,our white towels were so bright blowing on the line it made me smile😊I sometimes think it’s the little things that we often overlook,that can make us happy. So my washer gets a 75° wash once a week and as another viewer mentioned I also leave the washer door open a couple of inches once all the washing has been done. On the subject of spaghetti bolognese, I’ve always browned off the mince first, I never realised you didn’t have to😂. I agree about the new packaging of mince though!it’s the same in Sainsbury’s too😳thankfully I don’t shop there now,I just couldn’t bring myself to buy it,as you say it just looks like a slab of meat and doesn’t even look like minced beef🤢 I think it’s a vacuumed pack? I won’t buy it though,thankfully Ocado still sell it in regular packaging. ☺️xx
