I grew up fishing maryland and Delaware, I'd love to see you fish marshy hope Creek in federalsburg MD. Giant stripped bass in spring when the Haring run, big crappies, perch bass catfish etc. It's a great fishery. Was one of my favorite places to spend the weekend.

I caught three bass , total weight 16#, one evening from a small farm pond; with the largest weighing 8# even. The other two were both 4#ers. Caught them all in about a half hour just before dark.

That's how it is here in Nebraska you get a ton of 3-4+lb bass maybe a 5.... I know a little pond that has an 8 lb bass which I'm going to try and catch this year

You have a good setup. Cool ponds down here now and that is the ticket. Texas rig worm or s salamander. Then crawl across the bottom with an occasionally jig. Just read an article that said Bass can only see variations in the color green and red. Your color was spot on especially for semi stained water. Dark colors like brown, black and dark blue they see all as the same. Interesting. Look for them to start spawning on the rebound late Feb and March then the big ones really become more aggressive
