i went for AHM without train; it was my first half marathon and i finished with a time of 2hours50mins but had a very bad stomach ache during the race. It was so bad and i was forced to stop at times because of the pain and toilets were quite sparse but i finally managed to find one near the gardens by the bay area! i would like to think i did ok 😅 but i’m definitely looking forward to run another (hopefully without a tummy ache) very soon!

@@aaroiseverythingi went to those but they were either all occupied with some queue so i made the mistake of just running with the pain. that was until the 18km mark and I couldn’t hold it in anymore😂 Not signed up yet for stand chart but I’ll think about it cos it’s way more expensive than AHM 😢

Great Video! I am new to running and have some questions, very curious to hear from you. I have been reading up, and every post talks about running slow -> to become faster (heart rate zone). 1. If I am running at a slow pace for most of my training, this will only help me to get better at this pace, but it doesn't help me to be able to maintain at a faster pace. So how does running slow help me? 2. I have been reading that, doing slow easy runs, building up mileage/more volumes per week, would help you to get faster. Again, I don't quite understand how this works. In my mind, I am able to jog slowly (super super slow) for a long distance, but if I were to increase my pace, I wouldn't be able to maintain it at all. Thanks, looking forward to your answers!

slow running should make up majority(about 80%) of your runs. that includes warm ups and cool downs. Also, running slower allows you to run for much longer. Allowing you to run higher and higher mileage per week. You only do fast runs during intervals such as 200m all the way to 4km intervals. depends which distance you are training for. Hope that helps!

@@aaroiseverything thanks for the reply! OHH. HMM, so I'm confused about this portion. Like I understand how that could help me run longer and clock more mileage, but won't that just help me get better in maintaining this slow pace on a longer distance? And if I were to try to go to my race pace, I wouldn't be able to maintain, and get tired fast.

@@zebra9389 yup during the workouts youll run faster than race pace for maybe 60-90% of the distance of the race usually.

Hi Aaro I just wanna say thank you for your videos, knowledge and inspiration. Today I ran 2.4km in 9:45 and passed the entrance exam for my university (time to beat was 10:08), following your program. I couldn't be happier, I know it's not an amazing time but it's a huge improvement for me because I had really terrible endurance. Keep it up!

Basically running behind people so that they can deal with the wind/air resistance for you. Makes it easier to run without that additional resistance
