I think you are spot on when it comes to getting used to just one racquet , string setup and specs in order for you to raise your level. I think once you have 70 hours with the same racquet setup you start trusting your strokes on a whole different level.

Agree! 70 hours is an interesting checkpoint to consider. It has been a long chase of the racquets I'd want to like, finding the ones I actually do, then having enough time to sort through those and what I can do differently to each of them, from strings to weight changes, etc.

The 300 Tour was a major contender for me. Fantastic feeling spin racquet. Only reason I didn't go with it is I learned I just couldn't make the switch to a spin racquet in general. Interesting. Makes sense. You kind of need to be really on top of the spin but I've gotten better at flattening shots with extra weight around 3 and 9 but that may never be a strength of this racquet. We'll see! Might compare it to others more specialized to hit such shots just to close the gap but I want one which can do both well enough but especially spin.

I had tried my SX 300 tour end of last year, but it didn't "make the cut" compared to my others. After watching your video I dusted it off, put in a new set of crosses, Tourna Black Zone (I hadn't used it much, so left the Cyclone mains as is...) at a higher tension than previously (55 vs. the old 45). That tightened up, and livened up the racquet. Only recently have I started to experiment with the joys of tighter tensions for greater control. Went and did some wall hitting, felt good, controlled, repeatable shots and results...then practiced some serves. Hmmm, well this setup seemed very dialed in! I'm not a fastball server, I tend to need to use some shaped polys to get the ball to dive in. This setup seemed to be delivering very well. I will use it for this week's match and see how it holds up under game time conditions. BTW, the Cyclone mains are yellow, and the Tourna Black crosses are.....well they're black, and thus the setup looks SWEET. For whatever that's worth....C'mon, I'm not the only slave to fashion around here am I?

The current CX, FX, and SX lines are nothing to laugh about. They are Dunlop's best lines of frames post their bankruptcy issues in mid 2000s. The CX is the box beam control line, the FX line is a better version of the Pure Strikes or Radical lines of the world, and the SX is their spin frame line. The only more spin friendly frames I have hit with are the Artengo TR990pro and the Tecnifibre X-1 line that was launched about 4 yrs ago.

Rarely is a racquet ever quite that floppy but it's also so comfortable that the sensation wasn't quite clear to me. Unusual racquet! Hard to say exactly where and how much but a lot of that weight was in the handle. Partly lead tape, more so a leather base grip. Maybe both of those added about 15-20 grams from the stock base grip. The remaining weight would be all around the head, maybe cocentrated a bit more around the 3/9 area. Balance point around 11-12pts HL.

I rather enjoyed the SX3T until I noticed how fat the beam is all around.. like you, I thought the racket could do with a more stability because I kept having it twisted out of my grip while taking poorly connected volleys (but ofc, that's a human problem more than anything else) for many reasons that came together, I ended up getting myself the Radical Pro with the sexy thin beam 😍 and found myself hitting really flat. For a brief period, I fell in love with it presumably because it gave me something different but later it became a source of frustration for me because I couldn't hit it with sufficient margin especially on days I didn't feel quite dialled in y'know like those 50% days, where I just wanna hang back.. the Radical seems to bellow at me to "not be lazy, hit with aggression & commit to the shot", and when I get punished for not doing just that, it always felt like it's dissing me for being a noob 👀 now, I find myself wanting to go back to the SX3T even though I've *mentally* decided to close the chapter on it 😮💨 I strung 50/48lbs on both the SX3T & the Radical Pro with the Signum Poly Pro Plasma (SPPP) and SPPP HEXtreme respectively. 1. What would you suggest I do with the Radical Pro? Do you think switching it to the SPPP HEXtreme and bumping down the tension would make it much, much more approachable? 2. However, it can be a quick impulse that passes in a day or two but if I still have it, I can be sure. Otherwise I'm likely to buy again. Was this way recently with the PAVS and PA98 1. Some rackets are just not that spin friendly. Strings can only do so much as well as tension. These tweaks might be beyond the reach of the racket and what you want out of it. The SX is insane. The spin and comfort are crazy and with a bit of weight, you can really dial it in to your own tastes. I think it's possible that I enjoy good enough predictability with the strings I use because they don't break or lose snapback so early. This racquet and the very open pattern will more quickly expose the strings to stresses that break them down but restring/toroline have options that survive well anyway. If it weren't for these strings, I'd have a harder time using this racquet, surely...like strings with less snapback would move WAY more in this racquet than others and break much sooner. Can't guarantee your experience will be one way or another but if you can find a string from restring/toroline that you like, you can definitely appreciate the durability and consistent performance of them over time. If you aren't a super string breaker, it may or may not matter less. Some of these things you'll have to find out for yourself

@@ZeroLoveTennis yeah me too I do like the 100 head size. Both great racquets. I have a PA98 at the moment but I prefer the Dunlops. Tough choice can’t go wrong with either

Oh nice, very similar journey to me then. It's hard to tell much difference in my 2 SX's but with time and trials, I will eventually come to figure it out. Mostly like the idea of the 100 being more stable but the 98 being less launchy. In reality, I'll see if they feel/play that way. Still yet to perfectly match them and set up with the same strings. Still messing with strings/weight/balance.

Spin only works on clay, all other surfaces you get killed by a early ball striker like RF dominating Nadal after 2016

I'm not going to apply Federer as someone to worry about in my tennis. I kinda see your point but I'm not going to compromise on my playstyle. I'd rather lean into it and it's how I like to shape and control the ball anyway. Flatter hitting just doesn't lend itself to my kind of tennis. Plenty of players are pretty overwhelmed by my spin as well and Nadal wasn't the ultimate example of spin but he was the face of it being the king of clay hitting with a Pure Aero. I get your point, though. Flat hitters take away a bit of time and can make returning balls a little awkward but there are downsides to this playstyle as well. Lower margin for errors, easier to predict when at net receiving their balls. I'm not going to reduce a player's options to what their playstyle is. It's never that simple.

Why does title include the word, “Knockoff”? I thought there were some illegal rackets being sold at major outlets … only reason I clicked. 😂

Haha a lot of people would call it a copy or a knock off. Sorry if you felt mislead. Definitely not the intention.

@@ZeroLoveTennis haha in my opinion you are very professional and hard working and deserve some more recognition. also i have a question. Im kind of new to tennis ive been playing for around half a year but i have a problem where i over shoot the ball. do you have any tips for this? also right now i use a babolat rival 102, what racket do you think i should use moving forward?

Thanks! We'll see, I haven't uploaded a video in a month. I have cool ideas but getting everything out there and keeping up with momentum/generating it is another level of crazy. I hope to keep up with it, though! I think a lot of hyper-succesful people are actually just crazy but happen to be the right kind. We shall see if my kinda crazy leads to such fame/success but I am still tapping into it! A racquet like you mentioned is probably weighted heavily in the head but also very light. This forces a kind of awkward swing better suited for dinking a ball over with power but not much technique and spin (which really helps keep the ball in as you hit harder and harder) So you might greately benefit by getting a "tweener" style racquet. If you like Babolat, the Pure Aero or Pure Strikes could both be worth checking out. All of the options within those are in the direction I am suggesting but a few of them might be too far, namely from the Pure Strike lineup. Like I would suggest against the 16x20 or the 18x20 but the rest could be good to test for a little while.
