I thought I had finally broken because I saw the coal weave and thought that was actually kind of beautiful. Then it immediately went to the conveyors just weaving back and forth instead of going straight and I discovered I could still feel pain. Your messes of belts actually give me a lot of hope. My current factory has a big circular carousel of belts that is 33 belts wide, and I've been struggling coming up with a good design that splits all of them to go two different directions in a certain amount of space. Seeing your tangled mass reminds me that its possible. On a more constructive note, I noticed that you were removing belts to put in the better ones. You can actually do an in place upgrade of conveyors which makes it really easy. Just select the new belt and point at the old one, it should highlight for you and just a click will replace it and keep everything that was on it still flowing.

@@LetsGameItOut Just wondering as well you can place splitters or mergers on existing conveyor belts but if you want to upgrade the conveyors in the way Gary Wilson said you have to get rid of the merger or splitter first otherwise the one inside will be the same as when you applied it
@DavidMetzener
5 жыл бұрын
@@Jakeostar1 I've upgraded many a belt that had a splitter/merger on it and seen no issues with the speed of items on the upgraded belts. I've heard people talk about the internal speed of the splitter/merger, but I think they were mistaken. There are ways to have a small segment of belt just sticking out of the splitter/merger when placing them on the belts. If you connect a belt to that little piece sticking out, it's going to be impossible to upgrade since the game thinks you are looking at the splitter/merger. You would then have to remove the splitter/merger to fix the small belt segment. Just try not to place splitter/mergers at the connection points of belts and you will be fine.

Great video! Just watched the series, this is high quality content. An idea for the tornado (and weave): try encasing them. You can still visit them, but if they are inside walls they shouldn't tank your frames if you just look in their direction. Plus, as a bonus: then you will have a monstrosity of a building where they are as a monument to the horrors inside. Also, then you can paint the walls with pixel art.
