I have this one too. Love that squirrelly clarinet of Jack Crawford!! Such a jaunty high spirited dance band of the late twenties . One of those rare 1927 Victor sides! I'm so mad at Victor for not recording this band at all in 1928 or 1929 or 1930! Imagine the fun sides! I've seen his picture in the thirties, so I know his marvelous band played on for years after these few 1927 sides! Well, at least we have these! Thanks for uploading this one! It sounds very clean and is enjoyable to play!

Yes indeed. The records they made would have easily sold. Hot stuff.

No one was soloing on soprano sax in those years in dance bands except Crawford and he did very well! Thanks for these two Victor's sides Joe!

Like label mate Johnny Johnson, Jack Crawford's band had a unique and recognizable sound on Victor.

For a real treat go to Host 2 Reeler and see Crawford play Baltimore, one of my favorites and see how it was supposed To be danced to.
