Bro, all this in less than a week is just impressive. You made some mistakes, but I think that's because you learned Spanish before learning Portuguese, I see that a lot with some people trying to learn the language. It's been 6 months, so you've probably gotten even better now. Just subscribed, I wanna see you speaking Portuguese again in a future video. Um abraço e muito sucesso nos estudos 🇧🇷

Portuguese has 5 nasal vowels and 8 to 9 oral vowels (8 for Brazil and 9 for Portugal). That's why it's a bit tricky to pronounce all those sounds. There are two useful videos on KZitem that can help you with it called: "Portuguese vowels - ultimate Portuguese pronunciation guide" (brazil) and "Open & Closed Vowels - The Secret to Understanding EU Portuguese Natives."

There are about 800 Latin core/root/stem words, and once you have them in your mind, all other romance languages fall more or less in place, since they're just latin slangs (some with odd rules and pronunciations, but still readable and recognizeable). Some languages dropped second and third meanings and create faux friends, but once you learned all the original latin meanings, you're less puzzled.

I've heard a few Brazilian Portuguese speakers before but I can't really speak it. It's kinda cool that the pronoun "voce" became familiarized exactly like "you" was familiarized in English. French and Spanish didn't evolve that way. The gender confusion with Spanish is definitely frustrating, though. But that tends to happen when you have an imperial language with three genders and half of the empire collapses. I can tell you worked hard at this. The US needs Portuguese speakers!

Native Portuguese here. I would advise against learning Spanish and Portuguese at the same time, they’re similar enough to cause plenty of confusion. Many Portuguese try to fake Spanish by just changing their speaking accent and it’s kind of embarrassing! 😨
