Apologies if I have said this already. Your ability to portray so many emotions without varying the volume of your voice is extremely impressive. HOLY CROWS! What a ride! The emotional roller-coaster this story had me on... I'm still shaking my head in disbelief at the writing. The ebb and flow of every part of this story, and no slump or getting bogged down. No... metaphysical dragging of the feet when the author got tired or lost the train of thought. Some of the best writing I've read (more accurately, heard) in years. A good way to get new listeners hooked. I didn't realise, when reading the title, just how long the video would be (probably a good thing), but thankfully, I was enthralled from very early on. I can't even remember the last time I commented, not that it matters. I stumbled upon this one night while my partner was putting the kids to bed. It was a random "this seems like my kind of thing" story and I hadn't looked at the length. I eventually realized that my partner had fallen asleep, but figured that "I'll go wake him when the story is over"... He had a locked neck for days after this, not having fallen asleep in a particularly good position. It still took me some time to go through the whole thing and, I swear I used to be cool once, the ending had me crying. Thank you, author, for giving me an entrance to a world I haven't felt connected to before and thank you, narrator - for making it come to life while I was running around being busy in my own universe. I finished it, and also listened to a few of his other stories and checked him out on reddit, honestly, I really enjoyed it, the ending was really good, wouldnt really change it much if if I was rewriting it, and even after getting the full context for how he writes theres still one main issue i have, even acknowledgeing that everything else i said was too harsh or just stylistic choice. I wish Tobey Changed, you don't even have to make it effect the plot, but man I wish he underwent SOME sort of growth, theres no reason for him not to grow, hes in a new environment and how he is was entirely insufficient, he should have grown to be at least a LITTLE more, i dont know, self sufficient? Stronger, but not power level wise, mentally. I wish he had to grow as a person, this story was REALLY missing an actual internal conflict/character growth. But that aside, excellent narration, really good story, Subscribed and bell notifications enabled.

@joshuamiller7502
6 ай бұрын
@@AnimasNarrations Yeah the therapy thing is good i suppose, it would have actually HIT though if we saw him struggling throughout the narrative from nightmares or hallucinations of monsters in the dark, even getting a classic cliche scene of him seeing an old monster that almost killed him in the closet, or images of that dead 10-year-old girl from the first part "haunting" him, OH OH OH IT COULD EVEN TIE INTO HIM LEARNING ABOUT ACTUALY GHOSTS, and looking for a magic way to exorcise the ghost leading to him being forced to come to terms with the idea that it might just be all in his head and he starts going to therapy. I got carried away there, but I think its neat, and I love writing. The thing with his dad is genuinely fantastic, and like I said I think the ending was the best part of the story(besides Max of course). The whole reveal regarding his dad really subverted my expectations in the BEST possible way, just amazing. Actually loved it.

I listen to stories like this on my way to and from work and never finish them. But this story has me hooked! I'm 6 hours in now and wished it was longer!

This was well done and several of the monsters that I knew right away turned out to be significantly more wholesome than I was expecting. Something else was that the main character was well written in addition to being a great way to write someone from a different perspective than many would agree with. I also like the fact that the main character was not only able to heal from terrible trauma but to heal the trauma of others. I was absolutely expecting to there to be a point where the main character became the silver king's replacement. Lastly someone of the mythos surrounding some of the creatures was not necessarily the primary mythos but still wonderful to hear. I look forward to listening to more of this and wish you luck.

This is so great, just when I thought it couldn't top itself with each new event and then the next day happens. There's so much "Oh yeah I forgot your a human." each time for each event.

I’m finishing this up, on the third day of listening to it while at work, and I’m just… amazed. You are amazing for narrating this, and you’ve done a phenomenal job 🥹 The whirlwind of emotions really hit me hard, but I’d go through this again over and over!

Best story I've heard in a super long time. If I could give this a 1000 likes I would. I feel like everyone needs to hear this. It's rare that a story this long grabs and keeps my attention but once it started I just couldn't stop listening. I found myself getting emotional at every turn and drawn into all of the characters. I'm beyond sad that it's over. I would listen to more of this every day. Thanks for doing such a great job and keep up the amazing work. I'll be here to see what other awesome stuff you do in the future definitely earned a sub with this one!!!
