Don’t follow hot spots! Stay in the vicinity of popular restaurants but not where lots of other drivers are sitting. Try finding a area where few(2) or none are sitting. Sit and wait for the better offers. Keep in mind, customers can change/take back their tip. Don’t take orders requiring a lot of drive time/miles.

I just signed up recently too, I have a normal 40 hr job during the week so I'm not too bothered about what my hourly rate is. I learned pretty quick its almost always better to just pick a spot near a bunch of restaurants and make that your hub for the day. Take deliveries from there that don't go too far out and then drive back to your spot. Ignore whatever those zones are doing because it still doesn't guarantee an order and any time you're driving without an active order you're wasting money. Better to just sit and chill for 15-20 mins and wait for a good order to come up instead of driving to an order that may or may not exist or be worth taking. I wouldn't want to try doing uber as my main source of income regardless... good luck out there

@OctaneStreet I started in 1985 at Domino's Pizza, then pretty much the only real player in the market. At 18 years old, working 45-50 hours a week, I was making about $450 per week during the off season here in Florida, and about $200 more during the actual season. That was good money back when premium fuel was just about to scrape one dollar per gallon. Over the years, more places (still mostly pizza) got into the market, making it a bit harder to make quite as much. In addition, they all (including Domino's) added a lot of crap to their menus, further complicating the job. By 2007 or so, I was down to one night a week, and even that was more out of nostalgia and helping an old boss than out of necessity. By then, we were working a system that had us on minimum wage while in the store, and the lower "tip-credit" wage when on the road. Prior to then, we'd always been on regular minimum wage because we were expected to work in the store between runs. I did UberEats for a while in 2021 around my full-time job. It was okay, but never as fast-paced as any Domino's I had ever been in (though, admittedly, I had worked only the busiest nights the last several years.) Places like Domino's seem to still stay steady, and pizza delivery is still prevalent here in southern Florida, along with sandwich places like Jimmy-Johns. When I log onto UE now, I get crap offers and don't stay on long at all, pretty much just seeing what's out there. I haven't delivered an order since maybe last summer, and that was like two or three on one day only probably the whole year.

Funny you say that, since I was and still feel pleasantly surprised by having received so many tips. I don't like work that depends so heavily on tips though, since I don't like people having to feel any pressure at all to give a tip to begin with. To be honest with you I don’t think Uber eats is really worth it because the amount of money they pay you for delivery it’s very low especially if you’re in a car and if you’re doing Uber eats on a bike it’s like you’re just about getting just almost that same amount for each delivery price now I’ve always wished that I could suggest that as contract worker so that persons get paid on salary where if you do a five hour shift that day then you’re going to get paid $80 or what have you or if you do the eight hour shift that day then you’re going to get paid $150 or you decide to do a 12 hour shift that day and then of course you’re going to get paid maybe that $200 rate I mean I’m assuming because Uber owns the corporation they will probably choose what those amounts would be, but I’m just speculating But I do think if they did that people would be more inclined to stay driving on the app however I still wouldn’t change other things like being able to log on and off when you want to. I still wouldn’t change being able to go to work anytime you feel like going, I would still keep those same contractor ways but I also would hope that Uber would not just send people calls and then expect them to go too far off places just because they are putting them on salary. I would rather them still be able to get the calls, and it only stays within their facility of where they’re working and not 20 miles away and all of those things, so that it will be fair for the driver compared to sending someone that’s all the way over 20 miles away to deliver an order where I’m pretty sure there was a Uber driver in that area that they didn’t send the call to but that’s just my thoughts on Uber that maybe they should change it to something like that so if you decide you’re not going to log on at all that day and then you won’t get paid whatever hours that you chose to work but if you did logon that day then you will get paid that base pay and the only difference I feel like it should be is if you get a call in You have to take the call kind of like if you were doing customer service if somebody called you on the phone then you’re going to take that call you’re not gonna be like no I’m not gonna accept this call, but Uber would also have to be fair and what cost they’re sending people as well because I do understand what a lot of persons are saying they’re like oh you want to pay me six dollars but you want me to drive 15 miles over here some air so I get what you’re saying but that’s just my theory maybe other people will feel as though it’s not fair to do it that way, but I feel like it would close that gap and feeling like it’s not worth really riding for Uber sometimes says the pay amount seems to be so low and it’s not that you don’t wanna do it it’s just that he be like goodness gracious, you know

UberEats has been really slow lately. Some things to try I'd say is take orders that are paying at least $1 per mile or higher. Take only orders paying $7 and up unless the deliver is less than a mile or 2. Try working the peak times for breakfast its typically between 8am-10am lunch time is typically between 11am-2pm & dinner time is typically between 5pm-9pm. Try working only Thrusday-Sunday, Monday-Wednesday is typically the slowest days of the week. It is most definitely oversaturated especially now during the summer months.

Actually you're right in the three week mark all right. I started June 22nd I believe. And it's pretty much been a screwed up app. Sending you on one trip that turns into three trips. But there's a glitch and there really isn't three trips. It's just one. Yesterday I got a trip for Buffalo hot wings. And then all of a sudden another one popped up. Okay that was a real one also. Now I'm confirming the orders and on my way out the door because they gave me the GPS map on where to go. But lately the addresses are changing. And they're flopping. The names around. Yesterday was extremely confusing. After I was done with the second order, a GPS popped up and told me to go to the original addresses. This is the third time Uber did this. I'm also noticing it says $15 for a trip including tip. But when you're all set and done with that trip. It could be a $6 trip or even a $4 trip. This is what I noticed as it is 1:00 a.m. in the morning on Saturday. I got the Uber card. And I looked it up and a lot of them are $2 trips. The trips no one takes. So it's almost as if they're saying the actual trip is $2 and the tip is everything else. I don't understand how they think that the actual food trip is worth a whole lot less than the actual tip. So if you don't get a tip at all, you got screwed. Now I'm working on going to DoorDash. But I'm hearing there's a lot of problems over there also. And I heard you got to set up something where? It's not just driving all around anywhere. You want picking up trips. And then I went over to GrubHub tonight. Signed up and it says on the wait list. That must mean either the app is screwed up. Or so. Many people got hired to do this. And there's so many GrubHub drivers that they put you on a wait list. Like maybe somebody gets deactivated. Or something like that? And that's the only way you're getting on GrubHub without the wait list. So right now I'm kind of stuck just staying with Uber. But I'm noticing some issues with Uber that makes it not worth this either. I've never had a job my entire life. I am disabled social anxiety disorder. This is my first job ever. But the anxiety is driving me insane. I don't think the money's worth it. I made $92 today and I drove for I think it was 5 hours. Thinking about getting a regular driving job. Maybe at AutoZone

Someone had some munchies🤣🤣 My driving time was only a few hours because both days I started the experiment after my 9-5 hoping to make extra income at night and assuming dinner time would be the most profitable time to drive. The same way KZitem suggested your video to me today, I had been recommended videos and those people seemed to be making good money for Uber Eats. I have also heard that driving passengers is much more profitable but I definitely don’t want people banging up my car lol

Yeah on the beginning I noticed I put $40 in for gas and I was making 60 per day for let's say 5 hours a day. So that's basically around 10:00 or 11 bucks an hour. And every time I smell the food I get hungry. And having an eating disorder. Makes it much worse. I didn't think about that part but onward. I was hitting the Wendy's for five cheeseburgers every single day for a week straight. I learned to get food and leave it at home. So I saved at that point because that was almost eight bucks a day just on I'm making a roughly around 100 bucks for 5 hours a day now. Actually that's pretty good isn't it?

You have to learn your market after a few months (the short cuts-road closings, etc) and then you need to be picky and float your money...also, AIM for $10 an order and pray for an extra order to bump up your hourly wage...your goal is to make $20 an hour (or $10 per 30 minutes-15 minutes there and back-even without another order, you need at least a $1 a mile there and back!)...also, you can make about 2.5 deliveries an hour, so even if you take $7 orders, you need 3 of them in an hour to make $21 for the hour...do your daily goal (mine is $100 plus the gas put in-usually $17)...then when I am done, my day is over...it's all about your strategy...do not just take any old order, make sure it makes sense...time is money!!

Some friendly words of advice, we all start somewhere! I've been doing uber eats part time for 250 deliveries or so and have earned $3100 gross. Im also in Ontario. You just have to know your area, know your timing, and try and interact with customers as often as possible and be just yourself and a cheerful/friendly vibe. For better paying orders, give yourself a thermal bag and sign up for the shop and pay orders. The thermal bag, once you confirm it with Uber, will give you bwttwr paying orders more often! Also, being new, tk the scenes with Uber pro/green after about 25-50 completed delivery's, Uber will give you a custom promotion for extra $$$. Just dont let up easy, try and try again, keep yourself busy, and earn that $!

Wow, thanks for sharing such value with myself and my viewers! During this 'experiment' I conducted around 25 deliveries so 1/10th of your total but made much less than 1/10th of your gross haha. Your comment really shows that there are in fact tricks to this 'trade', and that there are many ways couriers can increase their chances of success on the platform. It makes sense now why I see almost all couriers using the thermal bags! I definitely want to try a part 2 of this experiment using a more economical vehicle, and this time utilizing some of the tips yourself and others have left in the comments. Very curious to see what a more educated attempt could look like! I appreciate your time and positivity, and wish you the best moving forward 👊

From my experience, Hot spots are 'areas with more orders/trips than normal,' which can/will be misleading. Yes, People with newer accounts or lower completed orders/trips have a lower priority, depending on the client's preference. That being said, on the client's side, if they have the premium plan, their orders will prioritize Gold/Platinum members. But as you showed, the more orders you make, the more Uber sends you trips/deliveries. If you know areas of high traffic, where you see lots of delivery or foot traffic, those are the best areas to 'camp out at.' Early on, I do suggest taking as many if not all the orders you get just so you can get the 'trips completed' number up. The extra order was called a 'Stacked Order' its where multiple orders from a single store, most of the time, they are all going the same way. I do hope this helps you and anyone who is interested in doing Uber or other delivery apps.

That is very interesting! I always tought that those services like Uber Eat, are bad for people doing it, as the depreciation of their car far outweight any profit. Your experiment is very interesting. 16h36minutes online, earned 123.28$, costed approx. 108$ of gas => net earning of 15.28$ (car depreciation not included). That is approx. 0.92$/h, BEFORE car deprecitation. Average numbers suggest gas fuel is (very roughly) 1/3 of the entire cost of running a car. 108$ of gas means your approx. entire car operating cost for this run was 324$. You earned 123.28$ => You thus lost 324-123.28=200.72$ in the end. Also knowing you spent 16.5h of your life doing this, you basically had a NEGATIVE salary of -12.16$ per hour, for 16 hours.

The depreciation of your vehicle aspect alone is why I'd never seriously try UberEats in my Mustang. One of the notes I wanted to add to this video (if it weren't already so long) is that I feel like you have to be very okay with putting intense mileage and wear/tear on your vehicle to do UberEats. Even if it made me a decent profit, I'd still try to find something else to do because I care about my vehicle too much haha. If you have an old reliable Honda or hybrid that's already lost most of its value, then sure this can be pretty good! I love that you crunched some of the numbers I shared at the end of the video. Absolutely hilarious that I was losing in essence $12.16/hr for this video! Now if that doesn't earn your subscription to the channel, what does? 🤔Hahaha I had to.

I know this video is older but it I have a few tips for you. 1. Be patient as to say do not I repeat do not take any offers that are less than $2 per mile 2. Do not take any orders that are below $8 3. Always check the mileage and the time before accepting the order. $5 orders are ok only if you are going 1 -1.9 miles away and if an order is $2 don’t take it that means the customer did not tip and remember the customer has an hour after you deliver to increase the tip and for me that has happened also some of the meet at the door customers will give you a cash tip hope this helps

Besides being in the downtown core, which would be way too taxing for my car, I don't think so. I'm very curious if new members to the platform just have lower priority on orders until they rank up doing these infrequent jobs. There was two moments throughout the 5 days where I had 3 back-to-back-to-back orders and it kept me properly busy for a good hour. Those are the moments when the platform makes sense, but that was for 1hr over the span of 16hrs. I'm hoping more experienced drivers watch this and chime in with more information!

I do Uber Eats Deliveries in the Mississauga/Brampton/Oakville/Milton area and one thing I can tell you is the hotspot areas aren’t always guaranteed money. I generally look at the Earning Trends map to pinpoint and see what times and areas are good. Just because it’s orange or red doesn’t always mean it’s the best area to be for deliveries. There are days where I absolutely make $80-100 in 4 hours, however some will be dead and slow. On the slower days I recommend accepting most offers as it helps with your acceptance rate. The busier/profitable days you can decide on whether you want to take all offers or not.

@@OctaneStreetI did deliveries in London (my college location) and it’s a lot more efficient because the city boundary was bunched up more closer; therefore, less mileage/gas money to spend. The GTA may be “hot” for deliveries due to population but the delivery times and mileage is greater. You have to experiment with Uber Eats for a few weeks to figure out efficient ways to deliver. Also, be patient with waiting for delivery offers lol I used to accept everything and then I realized I should’ve waited for a better offer.

I make on average 30-40 per day and I only do late shifts 10 pm -2 am. I find doing late at night you don't have to deal with busy traffic's but it'll definitely affect your sleeping. But if you have nothing to do then doesn't hurt to make this adjustment. Like people said avoid the hot spots and downtown locations. Too much illegal parking and you risk getting a hefty ticket if they catch you. I find the best places to station yourself are plazas with a lot of ethnic specific food ex. Asian, Mediterranean, Indian etc...people are more willing to tip for these specific foods vs the average fast food. Also location matters. More affluent areas people are willing to spend and tip. Whereas more lower end areas people tend to tip less or no tip. Good luck.

I Do Uber eats in a 2019 scat pack charger So I definitely feel you I was like all this is doing is getting me gas money back. But it’s a couple things I did to change that 1. Stopped relying on just Uber eats starting doing Uber Rides and Shop and Pay. 2 . Stopped accepting any offer that wasn’t $10.00 and up because you gotta try and get over $100 if you wanna still make a profit after feeding the Beast. 4. I use eco mode when I doing Uber but sometimes I fill my gas back up when it gets to half 5. I also started doing Lyft along with uber So depends on which one is paying more I have one to make money for profit and the other to pay for my gas

Dude!!!! I feel your pain. My “work” car broke down and I was force to use my 06 Mustang for this. This car is NOT made to be driving, specially on a stick shift. On top of that the technology doesn’t help, like I need to put in and out the keys instead of the push start button. I calculated my per mile cost is .23 cents for gas on the v8 and I top it off around every 100 miles. (To me the more air in the tank, the more gas will burn but it’s my belief, most likely I’m wrong)You were driving all over the place and wasted gas and time. I figured that not doing trips longer than 8 miles is best. You want to stay in an area near restaurant so when you deliver you are not too far from your next order. I also don’t take trips that the miles are more than what they’re paying. I like how your last shot on the video is of your mustang which is what I see, mine is yellow

There is one thing they changed recently. Match. If none of you or any of you realize what match is. They are giving you a shot to beat the other guy to the delivery point. I have beaten them every time. Six total so far.😅 But I don't like doing match because it kind of sucks with the feeling that you're beating someone else or that someone else may eventually beat you to the pickup point. Now what they do is if you push the button when it says match. It basically says trip radar. I think with that means is it's seeing who is closer at that point. And give it to the person that's closest. So in a way they're making it so you don't have two Uber drivers racing to the same Uber has been adding trips, basically piggybacking the first trip. So now you're getting paid the same amount but you're doing two trips. And lately let's say you got a $20 trip. After the trip was over you got 10 bucks. Or eight. That's been happening lately and it's starting to piss me off. You get excited when you see good size trips. That's why you take them. But when the trip is over it's kind of like getting high. You're feeling great when you're high. But after the trip it's depressing
