Lana, I can not choose between 4 and 5. 5 calms me and make me think about the countryside and I love 4 also, it makes me think about the ocean. Thank you for sharing this. Jesica

Day 2: I see a young woman wearing a wide-brim hat. She sits at a small white, iron scroll table, sipping hot tea and reading a small hardback book. She faces the left edge of the paper. She wears a dark gray sweater. Do you see her?

Your drawings are all great, but I was really drawn to 3. I’m not sure why because it’s not even a colour palette I would normally use. I can really see 4 and 5 framed and hanging together though. When I did intuitive drawings before we had to use our non dominant hand (-: Marion

Thanks so much! I taught intuitive drawing in my live class this week and I demoed with my non dominant hand… and then doing both hands at the same time responding to different parts of the music (vocals be instruments) it was so fun. Are you going to another intuitive drawing soon?! If so be sure to send me a pic on Instagram!

My fave is #5, followed by #4. Drawing #5 has a sense of being the very early stages of an 'explosion' of colors that are pushing towards the edges of the paper, while #4 almost feels as though it's a pic taken a bit later in time of that same explosion. I plan to get out my own PanPastels and try some similar exercises this weekend. Thanks for sharing, you're very appreciated.

I like #5 the best, it has a nice contrast and flow. I like #1 too as well as it's more simplistic and part of it reminds me of a bunny

Sarah Burns really takes the youtube art channel to another level. Her skills and aesthetic with painting are incredible, but the filmic style of her videos is matched by no one else. I'm so glad you included her in your list (and Jess Karp too!).

@@LanaGloschatArt Ha, ha, I was actually watching Cecile Yadro's video about her favourite gouache artists on youtube. I wrote the comment and then realised that the algorithm had already flipped to your video. I deleted the comment here and put it where it should be but somehow it's still here! I ran out of time before going to work to watch this video..... So I'm now watching this video in my lunch break: I love this approach of using automatic drawing as a way of exploring your materials. I'm definitely giving this a go. I think the one in the middle top row and the 2 on the right are strongest tonally and compositionally. Although the 2 on the left have a wider range of marks they don't read as cohesively.

@@bluewren65 that makes sense… ha ha. Thanks for watching and I am excited to hear you are going to give it a go! It’s funny, you just get what you get with these… sometimes they are interesting, sometimes they are a hot mess. 🤪
