The only reason any Minsk accords had to be made in the first place was because Russia broke - The Budapest Memorandum - 1994 - Russian Ukrainian Friendship Treaty - 1997 - Agreement of the Azov sea and the Kerch strait - 2003 - Russian Ukrainian state border treaty - 2003 -2004. I wouldn't blindly believe the "I did it for money" story. Many of those who say it only do so because they think it will make Ukrainians show leniency towards them. I reality they joined because they actually believe Russia should rule Ukraine. If they just wanted to make money they could have fought on the side of Ukraine.

I can understand poverty, and the need to get money, but if you sign such a contract, you know very well that you are going to participate in murder, and the vicious invasion of another country. That's a hell of a choice to make. Supposed ignorance of actual circumstances seems like an incredibly flimsy excuse to me for voluntarily signing up to participate in the killing of people in a country that's not your own. Why the hell would anyone choose that??

No Germans claimed they didn't know there was a war on. When did you pull that out of your backside? In fact, all Allied troops reported a huge fighting spirit among German troops even when they knew they were losing the war. This Russian guy is probably telling the truth, he didn't know just how hot the fighting in Ukraine is. Russian TV calls it a limited military operation.

Torturing them to get answers by physical or emotional/mental methods is. It appears this prisoner is giving answers to relatively simple non-military imoortant questions of his own free will. That also is not against the Geneva Convention either. Mademoiselles please stop defending Russians, considering what evils the Russians have done to Ukrainian citizens & civilians, and how Russian's Soldiers & Security Forces beat, starve, rape and torture Ukrainian PoWs, only shows how badly informed you are.

Ukraine has a abundance of drones, there are a few well known drone squads that are very well supplied with both operators and drones, what's being done for the lesser well known drone squads could these be bolstered from more well known squads for drone operator's and supplies? The reason I asked this is the success of squad similar to Magyar etc needs to be all across the front. This can be done.

I stand with Ukraine and am Retired US Army Infantry. BUT, I remember working a retirement job at a resort in the US that brought in Univesity Students for a season on work visa programs. They will in a dormitory, right across from the campround I stayed at for my visits to my home town. They had about 50 Russian kids. They were well-mannered. Reliable workers and despite the age difference, became regulars around my grill and campfire. Of course I despite their so-called leadership, but I was Infantry with multiple tours and it breaks my heart that all these young kids, on both sides are getting slaughtered. Easy for me to say from across an ocean, but lets maintain our humanity and a degree of empathy. My prayers for all affected by this. Putin and his cronies, I pray that they get what they deserve

Even right now they are offering conscripts huge amounts of money to just sign up (Inside Russia channel said it was up to 37 normal russian monthly salaries) and then they also offer huge monthly payments. Of course there are many positions open in russia. So many men missing already, that there is a shortage of workers in every industry! Plus they would make a very good salary for russia's doing in the industry of war supplies. But yeah, they offer SO much for signing to become a soldier, that many sell their souls to the devil and decide to become mass murderers. Their wives dream of how they are going to spend all that money, willing to take the risk. For they don't know how high the risks are. "From russia with love".

You can't judge anything about his character from this video. There is no way to know whether he is lying, telling the truth, saying what he thinks he needs to say to save himself. You certainly can't say he's a nice guy. Personally I think he knows perfectly well that what he did is wrong, but for whatever reason he needed money. He was probably shocked by what he saw and what he was told to do. He's now trying to portray himself by lessening his role, to convince us and himself. But, my opinion is just as pointless as thinking he's a decent guy. You just can't conclude anything from this. The fog of war.
