There are folk out there who wouldn't dare take the body off. That was a motherboard change... not for the faint hearted. I'd never seen a Marklin chassis till now. It looks comparable with others but the solder tags direct to the board is a new one on me. Nicely done. Enabling red lights may be one for Ivo or Marklin support. ATB, Andy.

I am not keen on opening them up, but I knew this was about as basic as it gets. It all comes down to how much can I get done with the hands. I managed to not even burn my fingers. Holding wires in one shaky hand with a hot soldering iron in the other shaky hand... that's a feat.

Superb retro fitout Anthony, The Marklin chips are very good the way they set up with the Marklin station, I think the new Esu v5 chips have the Marklin protocol built in now. I have now got the Marklin pcb for my dcc crane , I just hope it works.. Not sure if you can order a lighting board for the loco so to enable head and tail lighting, there must be one available from Marklin or another company . All the best to you and Joyce and family.
@ModelTrainOutsider
Жыл бұрын
Hi Jim! Great to have you stop by here! This was a simple as it gets outside of a true plug-n-play. Yes, the ESU chip was auto-read by my CS3. Roco seems to put MFX chips in some of their new AC locos, and DCC in others for AC. A couple DCC have been read automatically as well. It really is a guessing game with Roco. lol There is a lighting kit; it's an E190372, and it is not real easy to find, but some German shops do have it and it can be found on eBay. (Not Lippe, however). Of course, we will keep our fingers crossed and hope the new PCB works with the crane. Thank you and our most gracious well-wishes to you and your family! Take care, Anthony and Joyce!

Hi Anthony, Turning the power back on is always the scarest I would say but I was surprised how much you had to do just to upgrade the decoder but great you unlike me do not have to put all the details into the controller/computer well done. Keep well all of you. Cheers Robert.
@ModelTrainOutsider
Жыл бұрын
Hi Robert, I agree. Turning on the power and hoping things work is a moment rife with anxiety. I am hoping I did not push a fleck of solder into the wrong place and short something out. In general, this is a cut-and-dry type of install. It is just 3 wires and a bit of soldering. I do love that my system, when dealing with related decoders, is all self-loading and, with its own chips, self-addressing. There is very little I have to do. Thank you for watching and commenting. Kindest regards to you!

Ave AD, there is a spare parte "Ersatzteil" E190372 (Light change White/Red). But I do not know if this is compatible with you model (sorry, but I do not think so). Best is to ask for advice your Shop "Lippe" since this spare parte is still available at Märklin or an alternative. Also on ebay.de to see if it is same "build" like the ones in your Loko), and last there also Store Schönwitz ... well not a great help ... have fun ... Luma
