I had the older Blackhawk in .357 and gave it to my brother. He took a file to it and made the trigger so light that he had a couple of accidental discharges. I told him to send it in for the upgrade and they’d fix it for free. That was decades ago and he still has accidental discharges. Wish I still had that revolver. But now I have a Remington 1858 converted and I love that pistol.

The old .45LC, commercially loaded, has to be loaded to a level that won't blow up an older SAA. But, in the Rugers, that round, handloaded for the modern guns, can safely surpass the .44 Mags. I had a 1903 Colt .38ACP. You had to watch that you didn't get the .38 Super, which uses the same case.

You're wrong pal. In fact, get yourself a Ruger Wrangler😂 its 3/4 size scaling... Will turn your Colt single action into an actual pocket gun... Doubling as a fidget toy, and accurizing your hand dexterity by its smaller package requirements. You couldn't put 357 mag in the original Colt design... And that's why Ruger's tools are an improvement over the original. 😂 Get with the times

I was trying to pick between a Ruger Wrangler and a Heritage Rough Rider when I was looking at .22lr revolvers. The Ruger was the sturdier gun for sure, better made and easier to use. But I went with the Rough Rider *because* it was more like a Single Action Army. With the Ruger, you didn't have to half-cock it to unload/reload. The hammer didn't have the multiple clicks as you thumb it back. Etc. Those things are what make using the Rough Rider so tactile and *fun*. I wasn't buying a single-action pistol because it was easy to use, or convenient, or tactically viable. I bought it because as a fidget toy it's unmatched. And the more things to fidget with, the better. Like, hold up an M1 Garand and an original M14/M1A and ask nearly anyone which they'd prefer to have. Not to carry or use every day, not for competition, just to shoot. I can't imagine anyone would pick the M14. Similarly, I traded my first semi-auto, a Glock 19, for a Beretta 92A1. Simply because it felt right, to me. Less practical, sure. Somewhat dated design? More fun? Hell yes. Also traded a Springfield XD for a 1911 for the exact same reasons. "More modern" isn't an objective improvement, especially when it comes to aesthetics and the joy we get out of using things.
