This message is empowering. Some people won't catch it because they have been conditioned to have limited thinking. Thank God for an open mind! I am a business owner and I am combining my passion with my gift to create a career that gives God the glory. He is basically saying that when you do this, you know who your provider is...God and no one, not your supervisor, employer will get the glory when you succeed!

I stopped accepting anything from the government and within a month I lost my section 8 home, my childrens was sent away to live with my mother and I was living out of my car, seedy hotels and shelters for the next three years and a half. I continued to listen to these prominent pastors, and when I started to get back on my feet. They came with a new message that " Christians don't need to go to college" and that " God did not call the Christians to make a living for themselves". Thats coveting

I love this video. America was founded on entrepreneurial spirit for working at what you love to do.... it wasn't founded on "find a job, make the owner of the company rich and you get a small check for your time away from what you really like doing and what you would be really good at" idk what some ppl are talking about below, but the message here is to do work that creates value for other and best uses your talents. Don't just get a job for the sake of the money. Live free, live in abundance.

When I was new to Christ, I heard a message by two very prominent pastors that Christians should not be accepting welfare, foodstamps, section 8 or any assistant from the government. Christians should only receive their help from God. I was a young single mother of two boys at the time, with no job skills, and was on every government assistant I could get my hands on I needed help and was not ashamed to ask for it. I didn't know how to do anything. After hearing this message

I was more mature in Christ by then and decided that their message did not line up with the Word of God, so I changed churches. Little Children please be careful how you hear. There are preachers who never experienced true poverty. The shame, ridicule, embarassment, and depression. Please search the scriptures for yourself. Don't let anyone turn you into a slave. You can be an employee on a job, college student, business owner, or have a career and still serve Jesus Christ with all your might

God's will for you is prosperity so that you can be a blessing to others too, not to end poor and frighten unbelievers from giving their lives to Christ with your poverty. Go for Christ and don't listen to what people are saying about this poverty issue. You're supposed to prosper as a child of God.

@czickgraf In other words , you are doing your purpose you are still laboring with your hands. In your own business you are in authority of your own time and hours and schedule your own freedom you are still responsible to do so. Working with someone is pretty much you are on their time clock and not yours. Not knocking anyone if they are, But I got his concept and truly understand where he is coming from.

God's hand is in EVERYTHING, even welfare. He started the system when he told Israel not to adjoin their land so the poor may eat. Of course the poor had to get up and collect it. It was meant for us to help each other; we refer to it as justice. I believe we should go to work (the job) and focus on working and leave the rest to God, who is our help.

For example when Moses' people we're enslaved and lived in perilous conditions, when blacks were slaves in America and lived in perilous conditions. Consider that the way we've been taught is not the way we're supposed to live!! Just consider it you don't have to believe it. They didn't believe their situations could change.... Consider it.

@yonccp First of all, you may have misunderstood the workings of a business. One year is not long enough to give any business for "success". God will not "produce for" you; so whomever gave you that advice misspoke. YOU must produce for yourself! @Zionbeliever You miss the point brother. It doesn't matter how many poor people you help or how many hail marys you say. If you don't give your life to Christ, you are bound for hell. So, helping the poor will never take you to heaven. And helping the poor does not mean you should be poor too. True riches in Christ are obtained through giving to others (Investing in the kingdom of God). Maybe you ask any rich pastor how he became rich and he will tell you the secret. And that is giving.

@Zionbeliever I think you have to study the bible very well. 2 Corinthians 8:9 says Christ became poor so that we through his poverty might become rich. The words "HUMBLE and MEEK" are not synonymous with "POOR". You can still be very rich and humble. Why do you think God blessed King Solomon, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and others so much? Does the New Testament say God cannot more bless His children that much? Being spiritual does not mean you should be poor okay!!
