I do not feel like a nerd when I watch these cuz you gotta understand, my main hobby is building model kits (VOLKS, AMT, Bandai, Good Smile Co, all kinds of kits) and I know a lot about them and about airbrushing and painting yada yada. I’ve never been a fan of movies or tv, not really into cartoons or Netflix, so when I’m watching these I’m like “oh, word, I’m not a nerd by standard definition cuz nobody knows what the hell model kits are but they know Mickey Mouse and fucken game of thrones and I don’t know anything about pop culture”

MOMMA FUN FACT! Firefighters uniforms are constantly being repaired because they have to last 10 years of use. I’m a seamstress and I work for a repair company. The uniforms are comprised of two pieces the inner and outer coat or trouser. The outer/shell is made of fire resistant fabric that private companies developed then sell to repair companies. These private companies also sell the firefighter uniforms to the fire departments. These uniforms can also up to $10,000. It blows my mind that these companies are profiting off something so necessary to their job that affects every person in the U.S. I love you so much! I always rewatch this podcast on my trash days, your aura is so strong that I can feel it radiating through the screen. Thank you for your time momma.

sorry this is about to be so depressing - but my mom took her life this past thursday, and as i am typing this i am driving an hour and a half home to meet with my family. the moment i stepped in the car my partner said “we have a new broski report to listen to” and for a moment i felt nothing but excitement. listening to you ramble and talk has been one of the first times i’ve laughed since the news about my mom broke, and the distraction, comfort, and familiarity you’re bringing me is next to none. so thank you for being my friend and keeping me company in this moment brittany, whether you know it or not ♥️ edit: thank you broski nation so much for everyone’s love and support, this community means so much to me. i am still praying that that there’s a chance brittany sees this 😭😭

hey Brittany, here’s your “I’m a firefighter” comment🤣. writing this as I’m halfway through the episode waiting for my organic chem lecture to start. for water supply, you were correct about the water grid underneath cities. this is why fire hydrants are different colors depending on where you are. different colors indicate the supply system a hydrant is connected to, and thus the pressure that will be put out by the hydrant (to fight fire you need to maintain a certain amount of pressure in the hose). in a high rise building like an apartment building or hotel you connect to the standpipe system which is built into the building, usually in a stairwell. for fires at “regular” buildings like houses, stores, restaurants, etc you would connect the engine (the truck with the water tank) to the hydrant using the 5inch yellow hose called the water supply line. the supply line essentially is constantly filling the tank to supply water to the attack hose lines. then, a second and possibly third hose line (the attack line) is connected to the engine pump and stretched into the building or area to fight fire. pump connections are that fancy panel on the side of the an engine. also, every firehouse has a pump operator who is responsible for controlling the tank output pressure and ensures that water supply is constant, and attack hose lines are not too high or low in pressure. too much pressure and the line will be too difficult to control, too little pressure will limit the flow of water and may not be adequate to extinguish the fire. i laughed when you said you probably couldn’t lift a charged fire hose yourself, because you’re right. a 1.75inch charged hose line can weigh about 70lbs per 50 feet (one section of hose is 50ft) which is why it takes 1-3 firefighters to control a single attack hose line. mind you the most commonly used hose diameter is 1.75inch, but can be 1.5inch, 1.75 inch, 2.5 inch, or 5inch (supply) depending on operations. this concludes my ted talk on firefighting water supply, you’re welcome lol. love your show, it’s sometimes the highlight of my day. P.S., you were a theater kid PLS you are most definitely a fuckin dweeb just as much as the rest of us 🤣❤️

Brittany, I’m usually a silent viewer. I rarely comment. I relate to the vast majority of things you talk about in some way, and I’m frequently moved by your words. But hearing you so eloquently explain the cyclical nature of celebrities REALLY resonated with me today, and I felt called to comment on a more serious note, even if I’m just shouting into the void. I hope you know how much of a ray of hope you are. You have accidentally created the most accepting, funny, educated, creative, and unapologetically authentic community, and I am so grateful and proud to be a part of it. When I watch your content, whether you’re making me laugh, or teaching me something, or questioning the state of the world and our place in it, or just having fun, I feel understood. My dad has been a firefighter for like 28 years now and he has all these crazy stories but there was always this one particular story that stuck with me. He and a few other firemen went into a burning house and somehow my dad got lost and migrated away from the other men. He said he tried to stay calm but obviously, being in a burning house with his incredibly thick and heavy gear on, it became so unbearably hot. When the other men all came out of the house they realized they did not know where my dad was. One of them started to walk around the outside of the house to see if he could find him. My dad, still inside the burning house, had made it to the farthest back part of the house (although he didn't realize) and said he got so angry he just punched the first wall he saw. What he didnt realize was he had punched a door and the man who went looking for him just happened to be right on the other side of that door, and when the man heard the punch he just threw himself into the door in order to break it down. They were able to get my dad out. Afterwards, when paramedics looked at him, they realized it was so hot inside the house, parts of his ears had melted. Extremely scary. Dad thinks it was a miracle. I dont believe in God, but it's crazy that the man looking for dad just happened to be in the right place at the right time. Either way I will forever be thankful for whatever it was that was looking out for him because my dad is, by far, one of the best people I've ever known.

As for the fire department, there are dedicated Fire Water lines underground (connected to Fire Hydrants and Building Fire Sprinkler Systems) that the firetruck can tap into via a FDC (Fire Department Connection). So in cases of fires in buildings or streets, the water coming out of the hose connected to the fire truck is actually coming from the fire water lines underground (connected via the FDC). In Los Angeles, new construction must follow the LAFD Codes and Underground Fire plans must be reviewed and approved by both the City of Los Angeles and Los Angeles Fire Department before it can be constructed.

Hi madam president I’m a firefighter and a mechanic so let me nerd out for a sec. Fire engines are different than fire trucks and rescue trucks. And engines soul purpose is to take firefighters to the fire and have several hose lines charged (water in the hose) and water on the fire. Fire engines have a reserve of water in them so this allows us to have a few minutes to get water on the fire if the engine has to drive further from the fire to get to a hydrant. Once a fire hydrant is hooked up directly to the engine the driver/ operator has to man the pump panel. The pump panel is on the side of the engine with a bunch of knobs and levers. Basically from the pump panel the operator controls where the water goes (what hose line), how much pressure, and if they need foam or not. Some fire trucks do this too but a fire truck is the one with the huge ladder on top and is primarily used for rescue operations or if the fire is bad enough there is a giant nozzle on the tip of the big ladder called a master stream that can be used to get a higher angle and a lot of water on the fire. Sorry for nerding out. Also as a lady firefighter these men really do be out here cheating on their wife’s and it’s insane. Luv you supreme leader ❤

dude i saw a vid last week about how american firetrucks are wayy too big to be effective as an emergency vehicle because we americans pack literally everything we could possibly need for fire emergencies AND medical emergencies cuz when you call 911 a firetruck is more likely to show up than an ambulance. but european firetrucks are smaller kinda like transit vans that still fit the same amount of supplies but more efficient like tetris. they also maneuver through streets easier and could even drive on the sidewalk to bypass traffic which sounds way more useful to get to the emergency faster. i also found out that our firetrucks are huge like that because theyre designed for our giant obnoxious american roads, god bless. anyways love you brittany, thanks for allowing us to nerd out

11:47 the broski report dropped the month i graduated high school. that summer i watched it with my little sister every time it dropped. my freshman year of college, every release of the broski report, my best friend and i would get some form of fast food and sit on the floor of her dorm room, and watch together. now, i save each episode and then make a fun meal for myself and have a me night and watch it in my apartment. the broski report has been a source of comfort and connection through all these major life transitions, and i don’t think brittany will ever know or understand how much she has impacted my life or how intertwined she is with my girlhood.

me and my hometown best friend are going to different colleges hours away from each other and every week we facetime and talk about the new broski report episode. over the summer we would planned our hangouts around the new episodes and we’d put on our mumus and watch them in eddieville and those are some of my favorite memories. we are proud broski nation constituents🦅

Months before I discovered The Broski Report, I was yearning for a space where women would explore womanhood, history, culture, art… and then I discovered this channel. And it was everything I was looking for and more. Being a woman without a community is like a lone wolf trying to find their pack: survival is possible, but belonging is essential. *Cuts to Britanny’s wolf alpha male awoooo* 😂😂 You’ve given us that belonging Brittany, thank you ❤️

As a 1st gen Cuban person in America it’s fun to look at the pictures of Cuba with all the vintage cars but it’s that classic craftiness and resourcefulness that kept them here. There was a super cool documentary called like Cuban cars or something (I don’t full remember lmao) that aired on like discovery channel in the late 2010s that showed all the cool mechanics behind all these amazing cars and car culture in Cuba. It was like one of the first times a show based on Cuban culture wasn’t about that awful man that ruined my families lives and everyone around me. Edit: the show is called Cuban Chrome!! It’s super cool and my parents even knew a couple of the people running the shops!

been listening to your podcast since day one and as someone who use to think podcasts were lame, its such a breath of fresh air to have someone just talk about their interests or have us learn something today. i think there is way too many drama podcasts and people who just talk about negativity as a whole can get tiring. So thank you so much for sharing pieces of your life and relatable content that even has me fangirling with you ❤❤❤

The part about sagging skin and stuff with weightloss came at the perfect time for me and I'd love to hear more about your experiences. I lost a bunch of weight this year and have felt very out of my own skin so to speak and upset about my sagging skin. Hearing someone i care for experiencing the same thing makes me feel so much more confident about it ❤ Also certified dweebus here! Lately I've revisited my past obsession with trains and i highly suggest looking into trains same vibe as the fire engines! Engineering rocks!!

If you live in the US, check out the California Zephyr!! It’s a sleeper car owned by Amtrak and it goes from Chicago to San Francisco with multiple stops all over the country all within like 2 days. They have meals included and you can change room cars depending on what you need. It’s extremely fun and they have a car dedicated to just looking out huge windows and admiring the cross country scenery.
