Being a Beatles fan from day one, and listening to this I say this is the Beatles...If I'm wrong and this is a cover. than I give kudos a hundred percent to the cover...they are awesome...I still think this is the real Beatles...I haven't ever heard anyone do Lennon like Lennon.

This version's not too bad, but I love Peter and Gordon's version better. The horns and string arrangements give it that good British pop sound. I discovered this song on a double album set of tunes from the sixties at a flea market and fell in love with it. Another good one by Lennon and McCartney.

this was recorded by a studio group called Apple Jam. the intent was to sound as much like the Beatles as possible. The album is called "Off the Beatle Track" and features songs that were written by Lennon/McCartney but given to other artists and never recorded by the Beatles.

Imagine, songs of this quality, and, Bad To Me, and From A Window, were not good enough for a BeaTles album. The BeaTles were the greatest musical talents ever. Beethoven, Bach,Johann Strauss( check out Emperor's Waltz) was pretty good and some other great composers , but these guys made it look easy.

Yes, this is not the Beatles, but the song was in fact written by McCartney. This is some sound-alike band and the uploader should amend the title to reflect this.

The guitar & amp sounds different than any other Beatles guitar sound that I’ve ever heard. Must be an quite early recording, like 62-63’sh. Sounded great . If it’s them. I tend to think IT’S them. Cheers

+Joe....the “group” was the singing duo of Peter & Gordon...Peter Asher was the brother of Jane Asher; who was dating Sir Paul at the time...as a favor to Jane, he wrote this song for Peter...although it didn’t chart in the UK, it DID reach #16 in the states and P & G even performed it on The Ed Sullivan Show to dozens of screaming girls...and yes..this IS John Lennon singing lead on this version...

Of course this isn't really The Beatles. I like this version but I think if The Beatles had recorded this song it would feature more Paul as lead singer since he wrote the song. This version sounds more like John.

I've always liked the melody on this one, even the bridge. But this isn't the Fab Four. It's Bas Muys' take of it. He made quite a few recordings of their early stuff, and managed to sound an awful lot like them. Pretty good at that. But, it ain't them!

@meridian2002 Yea, these guys did a remarkable Beatles sound alike. Due to contractual obligations, Lennon's name had and still has to be on any song of that period that either one had written, and Lennon's had to be listed first. Yoko Ono filed suit to continue the practice after John died...hence the pseudonyms from Paul. I'm a writer and the lead singer of The CayJays, so I've been doing this for a long time too. :) Legal contracts can be really nasty.

Vocally, they sound a bit like 'Stars on 45'. It's not bad, though. I sing this song regularly when out busking. An American band called Apple Jams did a CD of Beatles-style covers of songs the Beatles gave to other artists. I can't remember if this song was on it.

@TheCayJays I remember it well! I don't think John had a lot to do with the three P&G hits -- which also should include "Woman" which was released under a pseudonym but is also an L&M song by Macca. Funny because I just thought this morning wouldn't it be cool for Paul to do a medley of the 3 P&G songs plus "Goodbye" (Mary Hopkin), and "Come And Get It" (Iveys/Badfinger) in his live show.

Actually, it's not Apple Jam. It an Argentinian Beatles tribute band called, The Beats. It hardly takes a close listen to hear that some of their accent comes through on certain words. Google Apple Jam I Don't Want to See You Again, to hear their version.

I can tell you exactly where this version is from - it's by KZitem user gaius476 - two guys from Argentina (hence the accents) that try to record unreleased Beatles songs, songs they would have covered, etc etc... they call themselves the Virtual Beatles. They're okay, hit and miss :)
