YESSSS. Finally watched someone who committed to the switch. I watched other creators try this but most of them just went back to apple because of the ecosystem, airpods, smart watches, and laptops/PC's. Which OFCOURSE will be hard for them. As a person who lives in a country where the majority of the people don't use Imessage and Facetime(because not many people use Apple in the first place because its expensive af) the switch is incredibly easy. Most people use Facebook messenger here for casual communication, discord too boomed at the pandemic, and professionally most people use viber, signal, or telegram. Plus in my country owning an apple product is a "status" symbol, not really for productivity, no one buys apple here for the better specs or quality, it's all about the symbolism of success. That's why most people only have Iphones as their apple product. No Imac or Macbook.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra was the reason I finally left the Apple ecosystem. I had already considered the predecessors but didn't want to make the complete switch yet. Now it's time to choose the best technology over comfort. Been with galaxy my whole life and just got a 14 pro max, I’m a week in using it and I absolutely can’t stand how restrictive it is , no back home or tab buttons, no close all tabs, and the notification system is driving me nuts , I have two more weeks to decide if I’m going to return it, I’m in America and iMessage and FaceTime airdrop are reasons I tried my first iPhone. I hate that I have to choose between better communicating with my friends/ new people I meet or using a phone I enjoy a lot more and I’m familiar with. Still can’t decide if I should return it. I've only used Apple products since 2007, I've spent thousands of dollars on them and never received anything to say wow, they have a good camera, nothing more, I've been waiting waiting waiting for them to put in some very basic features like ringtone changer or normal bluetooth or file manager, I realized this will never happen, they just live and exist to mock the customers. I bought an s21 ultra a year and a half ago and this phone has just about everything for half the price, I will never buy their product again. I'm sick of their communism politics, Android is already great, no need for Apple. In my opinion, anyone who buys an iPhone or something like that today is simply missing out on the real products on the market.
@saitodosan9377

I really respect your perspective on this, but I've been using Android since like 2010 or so. I recently switched to Apple products for my mobile needs (iPhone, Mac, AirPods Pro 2. I had an Apple Watch but I returned it because meh idc about smart watches as much as I thought) about 8 months ago. My first EVER Apple product I've owned being an iPhone 12 Pro. I'm just amazed at how much of an OPPOSITE reaction I have to yours. I see it as great hardware that's for a certain type of person that doesn't care about your phone being an ultra-customizable pocket computer, but just wants some great hardware and software that works well together. I have my phone, which is obviously a phone. It plays music, installs apps, lets me browse reddit and the internet, and it has an awesome camera. My MacBook Air M2 is an amazing laptop that I can use for literally DAYS AT A TIME WITHOUT CHARGING when I'm not at my desk to use my top-tier gaming PC. Because I don't NEED my laptop to be gaming quality, or even want it to play games. I don't need more than a portable computer that has a big battery and Logic Pro to make fun, quick beats on the go. The fact that it also has an amazing screen and amazing ass speakers is a bonus. My AirPods Pro 2 are just a great sounding pair of IEMs that integrate seamlessly with my other Apple mobile devices. Again, because I don't NEED my mobile headphones to be top tier quality sound (even though they're objectively great IEMs). I have my fancy pair of Sennheiser headphones on my PC to be my premium audio hardware. To me, Apple products are just that: Amazing pieces of hardware (and keep in mind I've used EVERYTHING on both sides by now) for people who don't care about being able to customize every little thing. I don't have a dedicated Mac desktop computer or whatever, because I already have a sick gaming rig with two monitors and don't need one. But I am EXTREMELY perplexed (not an exaggeration) by your comment. Mock the customers? Communism politics? Sorry, but what the actual fuck does that even mean LOL? iPhone and flagship Android phones like Samsung Galaxies are ALL amazing. It's literally all up to preference and what you value in a mobile device at this point. There's literally no wrong answer.

Well, I think you have a valet reason, it’s not that android can’t do such, it’s just easier and more intuitive on apple devices. My main concern is safety and privacy and I know for a fact that Apple devices are safer and your privacy is better protected. The most important difference is that with Android the consumer is the product and with Apple the device is. If you talk about the build quality it’s also an easy one, Apple uses higher quality internals. So, if some people mock you here? It’s meanly because they don’t have the knowledge of the whole picture.

Interestingly, imessage is used so often in the USA and Canada, I'm not sure how in Europe, but in Russia and the CIS countries, despite the fact that a lot of people with iPhones, we all use third-party messengers like Telegram or Whatsapp. I think this is also due to the fact that despite the huge number of Iphone owners, we also have a lot of people with Android and therefore everyone just decided to use third-party messengers as the main messengers. Also, we don't really like to use one ecosystem directly, yes, apple is strong enough, but Iphone owners often use windows laptops and generally don't worry so much about it (but apple watch or airpods are usually chosen if they buy an Iphone). I use Samsung devices for work and Apple at home. The ability to Copy a block of text on my iPad, Paste it into a doc on my laptop, browse on my phone and instantly jump to the same page on my MacBook is a convenience I use daily. The universal access to all my data across all my Apple devices is another and Android simply cannot match this. Meanwhile my Samsung devices used at work are okay when they’re new, but the tablets begin slowing down within a couple months and are often replaced after 3-4 months. They’re slow, glitchy, and don’t hold a charge. Despite having the same price and similar specs as the iPad Mini, they’re nowhere near the same in terms of quality, performance, or reliability. And if a key part of the ecosystem can’t perform, the entire ecosystem suffers.

I came here to be encouraged as to switching over (I’m still considering it despite some weird logic you put here), but saying your gaming setup pc is better for editing videos than a Mac Studio seems kind of outlandish. Premier, and Final Cut run like a dream on even my own Mac mini (2020) let alone a studio. I’m editing and exporting 45 minute 1080p videos in under 5 minutes most times and depending on the density of my edit. Sure beastly Windows computers can probably beat the performance but when your GPU costs literally 3-4x my entire Mac setup, it screams bad deal. That said you did buy a Mac Studio to edit 10 minute videos with sparse editing density, when a $800 mini gets about 70% the performance, so🤷🏽♂️ who knows what you think is a decent cost to benefit. That given, I’d love to be able to game with my friends and my Mac mini can’t handle anything made after 2013. And having a two pc setup seems excessive. So giving up a few minutes on and edit to have a social life seems worth it.

I almost think there should be some law mandating a certain overlap between ecosystems, because they can lock you in so much that you might end up using a device you really don't wan't, just because you need the functionality of the ecosystem. And it's the same problem with Google Play and App Store, when you buy an app in one, you don't own it in the other. So after a decade of buying apps, you are essentially economically locked to that system, unless you are willing to throw away hundreds of dollars worth of app purchases. I'm not sure how to solve this on a technical level, but these systems destroys the healthy kind of competition in the market, so something should be done.

Last year i escaped Apple economy and it was pretty easy. I am now on Android for one year and if I will go back to Apple I am not sure.

Another one that took the red pill and and choose to learn a potentially unsettling or life-changing truth instead of remaining in the contented experience of ordinary reality from the bitten apple. "In Android you are a free bird to explore while in IOS you are the king stuck in the castle". No black label in your expensive screen, the "monkey island", a true 10x zoom and 256 Gb at reasonable price.

should've chosen samsung galaxy book 3 pro 360 as it has dedicated graphics card for editing and the galaxy watch 5 pro and galaxy tab... to experience all from the Samsung ecosystem

You did well, but I think you didn’t have to switch everything except Apple Watch which is only connecting with iPhone. I’ve thinking to switch to S23 ultra but I cannot give up on my Apple Watch ultra due to its functionality and style

Bro, not everyone has the money to switch all their devices like you. For people deep in the apple shit hole, there's no need to come out to the light as it's too late.

I'm kind of thinking of switching to a Galaxy A54, coming from an iPhone 11 user with an Apple Watch SE and AirPods 2 and MacBook 2015. Though things like Apple Pay and the App Store credit are necessary for me for subscriptions and payments. But even if Google Pay could potentially replace Apple Pay, I'm still stuck with an Apple Watch SE.. which doesn't work with an Android. Reply to the comment if you have some feedback or suggestions

I remember thinking that Windows 3.x was an obvious inferior knockoff of MacOS. I got sick of Apple's nonsense back in the days of MacOS 9.x. haven't looked back since, even with the numerous problems with Windows and Android.

Your current set up sounds like me if I had known better. For years I’ve bought at least 1 of every Apple product and now I’m realizing I coulda had so much more for less including gaming pcs. Really interested in the S23 ultra but iMessage is just one hurdle I can’t cross. There are workarounds but the effort isn’t always worth it. Cool content though
