All this shows is that the gun fits David fairly well. The gun can cost 100 or 100,000 pounds - if it fits properly, targets will be broken regularly.

Several years came upon a Fox Sterlingworth 12 Ga. SXS with fixed chokes, built in 1933, but in sorry shape, neglected by his previous owner. The gun is a joy to handle and shoot in the field. Hundreds of pigeons and several marauding foxes have been harvested by the Sterlingwoth, all with 28 gr 7.5 shot.

Welcome to Side by Side clay shooting world! But always have in mind to tips. One shoot low recoil cartridges, and second your left hand should be far enough in the barrels to control the typical sbs jump

I bought an AYA no.4 as my first gun, very similar to the one in the video but a bit 'nicer' with ejectors etc. My only gun and it's all I need. Oh, apart from my Greener GP... but that really is a bit of fun. Would be great to see a video on the Greener GP David!

Could be an absolute steal at £99 or a real 🍋. How about taking it apart and showing the average Joe what to look for in an old used gun David? Sure it's only £99 - not much if you say it quickly - but a write-of if it subsequently needs gunsmithing work. Loving the variety in the content though plus Doug's session. Fantastic. Fancying the Browning challenge this year for a bit of fun. Will be in touch.

My advice would be clean the barrels and look for pits I’ve a £150 BLNE Sarasqueta that shoots incredibly well I’ve just put it in for a stock extension I like it that much it’s a lot of fun to shoot a round of clays with I also use 21gram cartridges threw it on the compact layout and it’ll kill targets as good as any gun I own

Great vid nice to see you testing an everymans gun more needs to be shown how you get into field sports cheaply but with nice kit that just works.I dread to think the amount of people been put off by going into a gun shop and asking how much to get started and being shown expensives pews pews.There is far to much snobbery in field sports that needs to stop as it puts off new shooters and we need them in the UK.

That looks very similar to my mid 1980's AYA Yeoman for a pocket money £75. I found it would't open when hot, but using a light 25g load solved this and I love using it. Even with this, like you say those barrels get hot. I agree also that auto safety and double triggers just become second nature very quickly.

My budget Side By Side is made by Ugartechea (very similar to what you were shooting here) and I've got to admit I do like it. Very simple gun and always does it's bit. I've mostly shot it at clays but with 21-27g cartridges it's been pleasant enough to shoot.

If you shoot competition with a gun and it fits you , you and the gun will need id at a year before it comes naturally up to the spot you've trained your mind n body to be one and your scores will be consistent and get better n better Now the side by side is a great gun ad I grew up shooting these beautys , and the ones mostly were the cheaper Stevens or savage doubles. Reliable guns and can be used in any shooting game or hunt

Got an Essex s x s , your right it’s great fun but punishes the shoulder . All I had was 28g Eley Select so that wouldn’t have helped . Barrels were ok after putting steel through them and made sure fixed chokes were 1/4 and 1/2 , no tighter . Not sure how barrels would fair after thousands of steel cartridges either . Only cost me £45 too with a basic little gun dog scene engraved and Essex in gold on the cocking lever . Result 😁

It's normal for a side by side to get warm barrels after some shots or is only on the cheap one?
@beeboop1726
7 ай бұрын
Yes that is normal. You’ll see shooters on big pheasant shoots with leather wrap around the barrels to protect the hand. Or as the late prince Philip used to shoot with a leather glove on the left hand to protect from the hot barrels.

With double triggers do you pull the front or back trigger first and is there any chance if you do pull the front trigger first that you might pull both triggers at the same time?

@rodsvintagesxschannel.3095 just reading your reply now. Since I text that statement the same AKKAR 20g s×s that I had bulged the barrel on me after 190 shells. Not all at the one time, 190 put through it since I got it last October. On the day it bulged I only had 10 through it. My firearms dealer replaced it for me. Fair play.
