It’s awful the music industry did to that group ! Cause they were the shit, and their manager or production Co, (can’t remember which,) took them for everything they had, they were winning Grammys, and broke as hell. Then Left Eye (the cute little rapper, (she was feisty as hell,) went on vacation, and was killed in a car accident. T-Boz the redhead was diagnosed with sickle cell disease, and I don’t know what happened to Chili, haven’t heard nothing about her in years. They probably just took what they had an retired, but in their highlight they ruled, everything they did was awesome. My favorite was “Waterfalls! You could make a movie about them.

The pretty lead is Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas, the pink haired hard hitting singer is Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins, and the stunning rapper that we tragically lost waaaaaay too early, just as her solo career was taking off was Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes. Check out her solo album Supernova, it's really good. I think Spice Girls and TLC were around the same time, but I do believe TLC was for sure first. And I wouldn't compare them, TLC is on a whole other stratosphere. I'd put them smack next to Destiny's Child. More TLC songs to check out are: Waterfalls Unpretty Diggin' on you Creep

Dude, TLC was THE group of the 90's. Unfortunately one of the members, Lisa Lopes, the one who raps, died tragically in a car accident. You really need to follow them from the beginning. They started out very very young mostly advocating safe sex in their music, female independence, and sexiness, and love. Their music developed quickly and they rose up the charts every time. They were really on top of the heap for a while, until Lisa died. You should check out their first hit "Ain't to Proud to Beg". They had so many hits I can't even list them all. Don't be so hard on strong women making sure that guys understand who they want in their life. They don't want no scrubs. Don't take it personally guy. TLC was fucking awesome.

Lisa "left eye" Lopez, sadly died in a plane crash late 90s. She also burned her ex man football player house down. When they first came out there would be a condom taped to her glasses because aids awareness. They are incredible! They were cheated out of a fortune just like many motown groups, sad that people take advantage of talent but they do. Anyway the other 2 are still alive I'm pretty sure but I don't know if they perform at all. Way before the spice girls, before destinys child, check out some of their other songs, waterfalls is pretty epic

For me I started out liking Left Eye. But then I learned that the girl I really like back in my K-12 days aka grade school days liked Chilli. So then I changed it to Chilli being my favorite. Hopefully to score some bonus points with the girl I liked and impress her and stuff. Too bad it didn't go anywhere. She became one of the most popular girls in my grade and one of the girl all the guys wanted, and I became the boy/a guy no girl wanted to date in junior high or high school. Shoot. All the geeks and nerds were ranked higher than me. Even the Special Ed kids were ranked higher than me. But yeah. Left Eye started out my favorite and then I changed to Chilli.

Yeah, it's really interesting to see how well the music vid has held up over time too...? I could totally see this siting next to a Lady Gaga song, just stylistically. Whereas some other 90s mega groups who could sing great made such cheesy vids that have DEFINITELY gotten even more cringe with age... (Backstreet Boys & NYSYNC, I'm looking at you!)

No shade to you cause I know you can’t help it… but it’s something just so funny about watching the young ones react to what I grew up on. (I’m 36 now) And I love how they see that the music they play now is nothing new. Samples of samples mostly lol. But hey, My parents said the same thing about me. In fact when TLC first dropped in ‘1992 I was 6/7 years old. So even I had to go back and listen to “ooooh on the TLC tip” to even understand that they was risk takers from the JUMP!! They really are LEGENDARY. Anyways keep reacting to GOOD MUSIC!!! Enjoyed.

R. I. P Lisa “Left Eye” Lopez. Love me some TLC, Creep, What about your friends, Waterfalls, and many other songs I can’t think of at the moment, but they were a great group! En Vogue was another fantastic all girl band at that time. Songs like, Free your mind, Don’t let go, are just a couple of songs I can think of.

TLC came first... TLC came out when I was going into high school and the Spice Girls came out around the time I turned 18. When TLC came out in the 90s they were sort of a girl group for young adults--college aged, independent, in charge of their sexuality and not ashamed of it. This was during the AIDS epidemic, and TLC made condoms trendy. They would pin colorful condoms in wrappers on their clothes and use them like fashion accessories. They became spokespeople for Aids Awareness during that time, and probably saved a lot of lives. You should check out some of their very first singles: Ain't Too Proud to Beg, Baby Baby Baby, and What About Your Friends.

Funnily TLC took an extended break between 1996 and this release in 1999 which was their comeback. 1996-early 1999 was exactly the time that Spice Girls were the biggest band in the world. TLC was out first though. They are very cool with each other too, Lisa( the rapper) had a single out with Sporty Spice in 2000.

Even though Left Eye was the official rapper of the group, they could all sing and rap. In one of their early songs (Das Da Way We Like 'Em) from the first album (Ooooooohhh... On The TLC Tip) they all have a rap part. kzitem.info/news/bejne/wmh5sKCOf4WIrH4 I became aware of TLC with the song "Creep" in 1995 and liked them immediately. That song was on the second album and those songs are smooth and mature. I later also bought the first album wich was a lot different, it had some old school hip hop vibes and the girls were still very silly back than. They had a lot of fun back then.
