I've had a few kfx400s (exact same bike) only issues I've ever found was the swing arm cracking around the bearing carrier, frame cracking near the top front shock bolt, and with many many hours on top of I've had a valve let go and Destroy the head and piston. With your bike the rear shock is green cause it's from a kfx400, the thumb throttle is stock and the sub frame and a arms have been painted at some point and with the rev limiter hitting to early an aftermarket CDI will help that

Your rev limiter issue could be an aftermarket rev box/cdi that isnt suppose to be there. Or maybe someone had swapped sprockets. I think this would be a great candidate for a gear change!!!!!!!!!! If you want more torque you need a bigger rear or smaller front sprocket. For more speed but less torque you want a smaller rear sprocket and a bigger front sprocket. PLEASE DO A GEAR CHANGE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
@Ridgeswoodshopltd

Hey man 🤙 I’ve been riding 4wheelers since I was 6… I’m 40 now lol. Anyhow, make sure your rear tire pressure is dead even, adjust your rear suspension, take it back to that long straight away in the grass. Get it up to 3rd gear, as your driving, plop your ass back towards the rear of the seat, pull-up on the bars and crack the throttle. I use to do it in 5th on the road with a Honda 400 ex and 450r and could ride a wheelie for miles lol. No shifting needed once you find the balance point. But do it safely. And definitely don’t do it with stock bars… I was on the road in 5th and was doing what I just said, and my left bar snapped at the clamp. I didn’t wreck, but I was about 3 miles out of town and had to clutch my quad all the way home with my left bar being held up by the clutch cable. It was literally dangling lol 😂 Love your videos 🤘 you should be proud of how far you’ve come and how much you’ve learned. But you’ve learned a mechanical trade you can imply on anything vehicle related. Good job, sir 👍 be safe man!

Dot 4 is just a little heavier duty fluid. If you use dot 4 and your brakes just wont bleed correctly try draining the system and using dot 3. Dot 3 will push more when you hit the brakes. Dot 4 if for competition, you hit the brakes you will stop. Dot 3 has a bit of a lag to it

On mine the VIN was right where you looked on the chain side close to where the nerfs mount on the front but i am in Canada. Awesome find man! One more thing, watch the bolts that hold the front calipers on, they love to back out and come loose.
