I went to their website to check on pricing for their tiny homes, and I have to say that $235,000 is too high. And that was for 435 sq ft. People but tiny homes because they don't have the money for a stick built home. Ridiculous is my view....

I think it's harder than most people realize to go from concept to building homes at scale. With that, it takes longer than they expect it to. That's why I'm excited to see a company thats been at it for 10 years with a fully functioning 92,000 square foot factory. Thanks for watching!

Having that space between just makes me want to get a large foundation built and stack two (Piezca ? pies, cuh?) Lincoln Log style looking like this overhead ( + ).Support posts ( underspaces would naturally evolve into outdoor living space). A winding or spiral staircase inside those stacked Florida rooms would connect the storeys. (I would add sliding glass vertical doors/with blinds that also rotate ( like----\\\\ |||| ////----). they could morph the mid-porch into a weatherproofed, climate controlled room with a view in bad or extreme weather. It's a lot. Neat one. Thanks.

In viewing your various videos, I keep asking myself the same questions. In comparing the Modular verses stick built homes, there appears to be no overhangs to speak of. If you live in anything like a somewhat wet/snow area, this has to be addressed to protect the footings, foundation, and bottom plate of the home. Is the construction of the modular designed to only ease build in a factory? You have to address all aspects of placing a home due to weather and soil conditions. Anything less and the structure will not age well. With a different method of construction, will you be able to repair or retrofit as easily as stick built or even panellized construction? While the prefab concept is interesting, it has to be moved forward in a method to make sense for the owner, not just more $ for the builder/seller.
@MickerooNV1

As I understand it, the lack of eaves is a function of the maximum width something can be to be transported on the road without special "wide load" or other permits and trying to maximize the inside space. If the unit can only be 10' wide (for easy math) to be transported on the highway and you're trying to maximize the internal volume of the tiny house, you don't want to "waste" the square footage with 12" of eaves on each side. Then your 300sf (30' at 10' wide) tiny home becomes 240sf when you reduce the width by a foot on each side.I think it's about the builders trying to maximize the internal space of the product they're selling
@lorimcquinn3966
3 ай бұрын
@@MickerooNV1 While that may true, the real truth remains that the life and performance of the structure must not be compromised. A method to retain a adequate weather proofing by implementing a collapsing or folding eave would satisfy that need. I've seen this done in the past in stick building when doing repairs to eaves from water damage. BTW, a 12" eave is inadequate, you need to get rain further out from the structure and foundation.
@MickerooNV1
3 ай бұрын
@@lorimcquinn3966 We are in 100% agreement that eaves perform an important function (and also give some much-needed aesthetics). It would be great if modular/tiny home builders could come up with an approach that would accommodate the constraints of highway transport and the protective functions eaves provide.
@KeithandPamBilyeu

Pam here…conventional trailers have not had ‘eaves’ forever. The foundations are piers with gravel…no basements. They do have gutter systems…which I would add for water catchment and to prevent massive ‘sheeting’ off of rain. If the home sat directly on a slab…water abatement would matter more…but these are all 3ft or more above grade.
