You guys are lucky to end at 2-4:30 thats like a dream for me tbh ( we wake up at 6am and start school at 7:30 so like 12-15 hours of school EVERYDAY)

Graduated 2 years ago and i miss high school still but there is also things i dont miss (things i do miss) 1. hanging out with my friends at lunch or in between classes or at rehearsal 2.the uniforms (even tho its a simple uniform i had play or musical shirts that i could wear to school and it just felt so good to just be like "Yea the schools logo is on it and i get to support something i put my time and sweat and tears into" and i enjoyed being fashionable with the polo uniform shirts (because it was so easy to stand out because i could just wear a bowtie with a polo and look cute AF) 3. hanging out in the library at lunch (weather it was to read books or to just play magic the gathering with my freinds it was just nice and quiet) 4. Support group days (i was in a support group during my senior year and i really miss going to the meetings every week) (THINGS I DONT MISS) 1. the bullying! (does this really need explaining) 2. waking up early (im not a freaking morning person at all) 3. the homework and how seriously people take grades 4. all the tests 5> THE FACT THAT ITS NOT SOCIALLY ACEPTABLE TO BURST OUT INTO SONG IN THE MIDDLE OF CLASS (unless it was drama crass or choir) im an actor and singer and there were times where i was just sitting in class just acting like i was doing my work lol when in my head i was turning the classroom into an episode of glee out this bitch 6. the rules

American schools vary in size, what you can and can't wear, and how long the day is and how long the school year is. For example, my graduating class was 341 of about 760 students, you could wear anything that wasn't too revealing (We almost ended up with uniforms but thankfully we didn't), Our day lasted from 7:30am to 2:05pm on a normal day. As for the length of the school year, We start anywhere from late August to Early-Mid September and Finish in late May to Early-Mid June, but days are added onto the end of the year if we have unscheduled days off for things like snow. After school finishes for the year we have vacation for the next few months.

I live in Ontario, Canada; so instead of, for example, Year 9, we say Grade 9; it's basically the same thing. Kindergarten starts when you're 4 years old (you have to have reached that age by December 31, or 31 December as you Kiwis say; of the year you start, not September 1st like in England and in some parts of the USA.) Now we have all-day kindergarten, whereas when I went to school, it was either mornings or afternoons. Kindergarten lasts for two years (Junior and Senior), and then when you're 6 (or almost 6) you start Grade 1, and so on until Grade 12, which is the last year. Grade 12 graduation is typically held in the third or fourth week of June. We used to have Grade 13, but they got rid of it; although some people go back to high school to pick up some extra courses, like I did.

In my province, school goes like this: Elementary school goes from Junior Kindergarten to grade 8 (or a JK-5 elementary school and a 6-8 middle school), and high school goes from grades 9-12. Regarding the 12/31 cutoff date: My youngest brother was born on January 20th, 1996, making him the oldest kid in his class all the way through. He was also born at only 30 weeks gestation (my other brother and I were also premature, born at 27 and 24 weeks respectively). If he had been born three weeks earlier, he would have been born in December of '95, and would still have likely survived. Had that been the case, my parents would have held him back a year (he started school in September of 2000, when he was almost 5), because he would have been only 3 in Sept. '99; so it would have only made a few weeks difference anyway, he still would have been the oldest in the September 2000 JK class and with the same kids.

Going to a "small town school" (even though there are about 1500 people at my school) there aren't many rules because no on follows them. The teachers don't even care anymore. The few rules we have are like no fighting, only smoke on one spot on school grounds, and vandalism is bad. I hear things for other schools like no hats, no gum, no PDA, no running ect... To be honest though we need some more rules because at one point two years ago we were the second worst school in Canada. In three days we had two fires, a food fight, a big fight, and someone release crickets in our cafeteria. We might not have a lot of rules but I can say we defiantly have a lot of cameras around my school now.
