Very good find. These old make shift homesteads are all over the desert. They are usually built by migrant workers, or farm hands for seasonal workers. often times they are built on any old vacant land, since no one really checks to see who owns the spot. You can see the pen/corral for goats or livestock ( that will be used as a food source, or sometimes as an arena for chicken fighting). . Workers will come with their trucks or campers and a few friends or family members and stay in these places for a year or two, sometimes maybe for only a few months, they'll earn their day rate and move on. Then the compound will just disappear into the ground eventually. It's the modern day equivalent to mining camp shacks. I always wonder what stories the former inhabitants have to tell.

Definitely a weird place, I realized after the fact but those other buildings didn't even have foundations. Really sketchy

Looks like an old Hippie Haven. (NOT being condescending!) Stripped is right! I bet there's not an inch of copper left in any of the buildings. There did seem to be utility poles adjacent to most of the buildings, but they seem really short. Sad. I bet that place has an interesting past.

I feel right at home at these sketchy desert ruins. Cuz I'm pretty sketchy myself. AND I'm a scrapper. Like Walter White said, "I AM the danger!" 😈

Would you have tried to deconstruct that building to salvage the non-rotten wood?
